You're right. Feinstein of California comes to mind. The ugly truth is that almost everyone in congress from both parties really don't care about you, but instead care only about getting rich and keeping their power and privilege. The ones that do care are in the Progressive Caucus in congress, but they are a small, marginalized group that the leaders of each party ignore.

@dan325 oh yeah. plus he useta put on this "pigeon shoot" every year where he'd get a bunch of his NRA buddies together and they'd stand out in a field while some aides threw (literally threw) tame pigeons into the air for them to shoot with their shotguns. often the birds would barely flutter their wings so they'd just fall back to the ground and would be shot there. the whole thing was nothing but a ridiculously cruel massacre. I don't mind actual bird hunting -- seasonal and with limits. thats good for conservation. but to just load up and kill a bunch of creatures (and they didnt even eat them) for jollies is bullshit. we rode him hard enough and he finally stopped that heretofore annual event a few years back.

@dan325 it took about 5 years of railing on him hard to get him to stop that one. he didnt do it last year despite it being "an old tradition" as his office told me. "that's how they justified slavery too" I told them. I only joined the fray late though ... it was PETA people who started it and I normally avoid them. but this made me ill.
