The FBI investigations into the Jan. 6 rioters proved conclusively that many or most of the rioters were military veterans or current military, so this is the opposite of voter fraud, which the Repubs are gung ho about investigating, even tho it is extremely rare and usually done by Repub voters. They are simply trying to protect their followers in the military and to ensure that the military continues to be mostly made up of right wing extremists, so that when civil war comes, or even if it doesn't, that the military will stay sympathetic to the anti-democratic authoritarian groups.
