Good guy. Don't worry; he's not quite that big in real life.
Mainly a pollinator, the Soldier Beetle will also eat pest species like aphids
The Assassin Bug also does a lot of pest extermination as does the Preying Mantis (atheist spelling) and my personal favourite the Dragon Flies that fly top over me while I am in the garden and pick off the Mosquitoes and Deer Flies that pester me until my tiny air force swoops in and devours them.
