My lettuce experiment....( thanks too hot, dry weather!) How can a lettuce plant bolt? 4 feet and climbing! Can't wait for it to bloom. Lol.
Has anyone ever cooked lettuce like spinach? I vaguely remember my Mom doing that when lettuce got unruly.

I eat the leaves anyway but I like bitter. Very nice, neat garden. Not the mess that mine is.

With the temps lately I would suggest the cold pottage.

When my lettuce got like that it got bitter. But I think it would be interesting to see what happens to the plant. You could get seeds for next year. And your garden looks really nice.

That is an impressive plant. When we had a very big garden in Wales we let some of the rhubarb flower and that was magnificent.
