The local barn cat, lurking at the edge of the garden and looking for a meal of insects, frogs, mice, snakes, etc.

Never seen a cat eat frogs or snakes, play with them until they die but never it one.

I guess everything is bigger in Alberta except the cats. The little barn cats on this island sill eat anything that moves, possibly even each other.

Or waiting to spring some superstition on someone!

Or dodge a pickup truck, some of the local yahoos swerve to hit black cats, fucking halfwits.

I guess if i was a cat I'd be a good lurker!

That little barn cat replaced the old one that looked identical but had a bad paw, I assume the coyotes got him as he hasn't been around for more than a week now. This black cat is a good lurker, I had to use maximum zoom in order to get a decent shot as he bolts for the woods if you get too close.

@Surfpirate Amazing how they survive in the wild!

@SukiSue They get by with a little help from their two legged friends. A buddy of mine down the road has 13 that are neutered or spayed thanks to his wife, the cat food bill is starting to get up there mind you. A fox tried to snatch one of the kittens a few weeks back and it puffed up hissing and spitting which slowed the fox long enough for the other dozen feral cats to come on the double, the fox lost a fair bit of fur before it could beat a hasty retreat.

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
