Keep the pit in the half of the avocado you don't use & it will stay fresh longer.

Around here half a pepper doesn't last long enough to go bad, love the red ones raw, especially.

Yep, and if you are eating only half an avocado then eat the half that doesn't have the pit in it, the side with the pit still in it will stay fresh longer and not go black so quickly.
