That is great! My parents have chickens, I'll have to suggest this for when they don't want the birds ALL over the yard!

Rustee Level 7 Mar 22, 2019

Plus all the bugs they will get!

Could work for kitties too?

I have seen that!

Do those chickens count as free range?

CeliaVL Level 7 Mar 22, 2019

I would think they would.

@Hathacat how about limited range? LOL!

@MojoDave protected range! Both chickens and plants!

I like the mobile coops that allow the hens to get to the bugs without getting to the veggies.

Surfpirate Level 9 Mar 22, 2019

Imagine that thing being narrow enough to go between the rows!

@Carin It doesn't go between the rows

@Surfpirate yeah but what if it did?? You would then only have to hand weed right under the plants...I'm thinking this thing is moved around quite frequently. It clearly hasn't been sitting where it is now for very long, or it would be bare dirt. Cuz that's what chickens do--dig everything up & eat most of it. Then they start making big holes for dust baths.

I wish I had though of this 30 years ago when I had the "hobby farm".
