Sometimes I think that it is a good idea to make a splash in your garden by putting all your eggs in one basket, like this garden filled with lavender, I saw in Derbyshire yesterday. Or sometimes Primula, Inula, and Campanula make a blend ?

Yes, large groupings of the same plant make a great impact and that's why professional landscape designers plant in masses. Also makes for easier maintenance.

Lots of Lavender is great and it attracts bees. This year a lot of the color in my gardens come from plants I did not plant.

I love Lavender and have some in my flower beds. One of my favorite flowers.

The scent of lavender is fantastic too. I have to try to grow it here again.

@AmiSue I brought one from my old house - but it only made it the first year. I suspect I need to add sand to the soil I plant it in.
I'll do that next time I plant some.
Or I'll ask the lady at the Herbery - where I'll probably get it! She has all kinds.

I love the impact of all the color...I am still learning about planting so that I have color all through the year, even if it is green! My hostas seem to cover up the dying blue of my forget me knots and campanula...my bleeding hearts die off just in time for my Japanese anemone to take over...etc. I still don't know what to do with my bank of orange daylilies...when they die, all I have is their green foliage... 😟

Nice but once the bloom is gone on the lavender, there is nothing else. All that yellow needed that bit of white.

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
