Luck of the draw!

Last winter had dozens of record cold days....pollution is causing changes in climate patterns....the Sahara Desert winds are causing 104°F days in Europe and will raise Greenland TEMPERATURES over 56°F up 6+ from normal short summers.....the oil companies are repressing hydrogen cars for over 27 years....reducing emissions will reduce polar ice melt from a billion cars/trucks....the vortex used to be stable but ReaGUN removed the solar panels from the White House put there by Carter....I think we should store toxic waste in his insane coffin

@tinkercreek Unless you pick the pods each fall, you're sharing Trumpet vine for a couple of miles at least. They are difficult to dig up as well, unless you get them early. They are pretty and they are native (here), but they are extremely invasive.

A neighbor has a vine growing around her back patio. I'll try to sneak over there and take a photo or two.

@AstralSmoke I've wondered about that, for I've never gotten more than one pod a season, mostly none, but I do pull the ones I have. Hmmm.

@tinkercreek they also spread from their roots, which is their prefered method of reproduction, the clones allow the mother plant to spread its root mass and increase its likelyhood of producing sexual offspring.

@glennlab Very successfully, indeed! Nature knows it's stuff.

@tinkercreek It's a Tennessee thing. Oregon climate ... I don't know.

@tinkercreek Yours is also relatively small. My neighbors' is much larger. I know the vines can be extremely strong and persuasive, especially with buildings.

@tinkercreek But on the other hand, they are beautiful flowers and they attract various types of wildlife. Positives!

@AstralSmoke We have them with vines thicker than a mans arm with root runners going out more than 25 feet from the last sprout.

@glennlab I really have to visit my neighbor's and take a photo. I'm sure hers is close to 50 years old. She doesn't have many runners though. Hers is growing in a confined space, but I've had plenty of them pop up in my ditch, etc. from birds mostly.
