Henbit could probably best be described as a weed. It grows wild here in North Texas in the yard and the garden. But I have grown fond pf these little flowers. The color is pretty, the shape of the flower is interesting even if it is quite small. Amyone else acquire a bit of an affinity with a weed?
Put a few dandelions in there, my fav color combo is yellow/purple, with maybe some orange (but what other than tulips is orange & blooms now?)
I received a Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds catalogue recently and was surprised to see pink dandilions in it.
@RussRAB holy cow!
"Weed": Any plant, growing unassisted, where we don't want it. Of course, typical weed species are only rampent in cultivated or disturbed soil.
The difference between a plant and a weed is the same as the difference between a mushroom and a toadstool. It is purely subjective for the most part, except for the few mushrooms that are poisonous and are therefore called toadstools by some people when they are in fact just mushrooms.
OOPS! I don't know how I did it, but I posted this comment twice. Ugh!
I seem to see the doubleposting quite often . I find that when I add a comment , particularly if my commet is the first one and gets double points , that that is the one that will be removed .

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
