Yes in philosophy people will always categories themselves in groups to separate each other and I honestly don't believe people are the genuinely smart enough to make their own decisions because people are lazy and decide to follow a herd.
Questionable looking at the street scape that an extra thousand years has benefitted anyone. In fact apart from the intrepid explorers "where is everyone?".
