Last week would have been my 45th wedding anniversary. Last Wed. My girlfriend was diagnosed with cancer of the trachea. Next week will be the one year anniversary of my wife's death. I have become uncomfortably numb.
I lost not just my girlfriend, sonia, this year,my former wife passed last year.I sympathize with you and also extend my condolences.
A double whammy is how I would describe this bad news. None of us knows what lies ahead when we embark on relationships, thankfully, we just have to go with whatever the breaks are, bad or good. Knowing she has you must be a great help to your girlfriend and once again Iβm sure you will have the strength to give her the love and support she needs. It will be tough on you but when we love someone we somehow manage to put our own considerations to one side and find to strength to support them. The anniversaries are always emotional times and we wouldnβt be human if this wasnβt the case...you will get past them, we all have to do so. Knowing you are in a similar situation to others may be helpful or not, I hope just by sharing with us it lightens your load a little. ?
