After my wife died it got me thinking about my own death. I made a will and let some people know where it's at. Not hidden. Made sure include/mention some that totally abandoned me or tried to ruin my life. People generally rush in and take everything that isn't nailed down. Like death is a for all. I have some things that can't just walk out the door. Serious legal consequences if they do. No mention of how legally own/possess them after I croak. I did this on purpose. I just wish I would be able watch what transpires. isn't . My last little dig self serving thieves of others belongings. Not mentioned in the will so ownership will not have be proven. A felony none the less.

Good reminder. I haven't updated anything but my life insurance beneficiaries. There are some people I'd like to prevent from benefiting from my death, as well as others who are more than welcome. I'll look into it.

AncientNight is exactly right - give as much as you can NOW to the people you wish those things to belong to. Have people added as signers on your bank account(s) so they can simply "take over" those functions with no issues....money can be put into CD's in your name....with another person designated as "pay upon death" so there are no issues there either. It always amazes me how a death tends to bring out the very worst in some people.
