Here is how they are doing. 66 Venezuela 9,230 77 Cuba 7,815 157 Myanmar 1,242 Most of the countries in the world fall in between those small tax havens and the 3 Communist or recently communist states. The question is "Where do we want to be?" You look at the extreme prosperity of the tax have states and the poverty of the Communist or recently Communist states, and the choice should be pretty clear.

One M.S. in Computer Science. One PhD in Electrical Engineering. One daughter married a PhD in Electrical Engineering. All of them came to the USA LEGALLY. Europe has embraced that policy, and it has been a disaster: https://www.cnbc.com/2018/11/23/hillary-clinton-tells-europe-to-curb-immigration.html What other quotes from 19th century poets should we use to determine our 21st century national policies?

@Gooniesnvrdie Vice President Mike Pence said Tuesday during an appearance hosted by The Washington Post that “the president of Honduras told me this was organized by leftist groups in Honduras and financed by Venezuela.” But no specific evidence other the Honduran official’s claim was offered. A caravan in April was funded by Pueblo Sin Fronteras (People Without Borders), which is a project of La Familia Latina Unida, a Chicago, Illinois-based 501(c)(4) illegal immigration advocacy group. These groups have been organizing and aiding migrants in seeking asylum in the U.S. since at least 2010, but there is no clear organizer and little information regarding how the latest caravan was organized, who did it, or who is funding and supplying it.

@genessa Let's go back to the original question. It said "Why do I keep hearing that voting conservative is good for your money? Even if you are making 6 figures I just do not believe this is the case. I'm tired of hearing it.." I answered her original question. You are posing an entirely different question "Why shouldn't extremely wealthy people be taxed more?" The answer to that question is "There aren't enough extremely wealthy people to pay for all the things the US Government wants to do. The bulk of tax revenue comes from people making between 100K and 1M" What percentage of someone's income who makes 100K do you believe to be "their fair share". How about someone making 200K, 500K, 1M. Someone named "Sticks48" believed that my comments proved that I was stupid, and "Sticks48" did not tolerate stupidity. My comments about my PhD, and my 35 patents were a response to "Sticks48", but "Sticks48" either deleted his comments, blocked me, or did some other cowardly act. @OwlInASack The GDP per capita for Europe as a whole is 24.9K. If you look at all 45 countries of Europe, only 5 have a higher GDP per capita than the USA. Here they are: Luxembourg (Tax Haven), Switzerland (Tax Haven), Norway (Huge Oil Reserves for a small country), Ireland (Tax Haven), Iceland (Huge fishing, geothermal, and tourism industries for a country of 400K). @t1nick I think it's simpler than that for the Evangelicals. Some of them are at church 100 times per year. Multiply that by 40 years, and you have someone who has been at church 4000 times. Each time, they hear stories from the Jewish perspective where the Jews are gods people. The Jews are good, and the enemies of the Jews are bad. It's only logical that they would take the side of the Jews in a conflict between Israel and its neighbors.

The people still living in those areas are right feel screwed by both local, state, and federal leftist politicians, so they have more faith in conservative politicians. Politicians are scumbags, Trump is certainly one as well. We'll go through your little exercise: child separation in detention camps - Was going on long before Trump got into office. DCFS and a dysfunctional family law system were doing this for decades before Trump was ever elected President. homosexual rights roll backs - I'm not aware of a specific example of this. If you are talking about putting a halt to LGBT as a protected class, there are too many protected classes already. I was once a manager at Cisco Systems, managing 18 people at the time of a layoff. I had to rank all 18 of my direct reports from top to bottom, and I asked my manager if I could tell the top-ranked employees they had nothing to worry about. He told me to do that. Then when the layoff list came back from HR, many of the people I had told they had nothing to worry about were on the layoff list. Long story, but it turned out there were not enough white and Asian males under the age of 40 on the layoff list, so they were added because women, non-Asian minorities, and employees over 40 were all protected. molestation and misogynistic abuse - Have you ever heard of Fiddle and Faddle, Mary Joe Kopechne, Juanita Broaddrick. Paula Jones, Kathleen Willey. Politicians are scumbags. Why do you get all spun up over Trump, but not JFK, Ted Kennedy, or Bill Clinton? I'd put Trump in about the same moral class as those other three. Nepotism - Are you aware of what goes on in Democratic controlled cities like Chicago, IL? That's the time period where there was so much life on earth that we built up all the fossil fuels we are burning today. 2. Looks like we agree on the fact that we can reduce the military budget. Whenever you have a situation where you have a motivated private individual or entity trying to maximize costs, and you have an unmotivated public entity trying to control costs, costs will explode. That's the problem with the military budget, and that's the biggest problem with healthcare spending. No, when Obama was inagurated, we were in the middle of an economic crisis created by subprime lending. Subprime lending was forced on US banks by Clinton and the Democrats Community Reinvestment Act. The 1995 HUD directive forced Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to buy up the subprime mortgage thus transferring the profit to private entities and putting the risk on the US taxpayers. Google "Henry Cisneros 1995 HUD Directive" if you want the full story.

Here's a perfect example. This is equivalent to a minister saying Jesus will come back in the year 2013. When the year 2013 comes around and no Jesus, people should stop believing the nonsense put out by the minister. When a scam artist like Al Gore says in 2008 that the polar ice cap will be gone by 2013, then the polar ice cap sticks around is about as big as it ever was, people should conclude that Al is milking the climate change scam and squeezing every bit of profit out of it that he can. However people still believe the nonsense that comes out of Al's mouth. This is the same human weakness that manifests itself when people follow a minister even after he claims that Jesus will come back at a particular date and time, then Jesus doesn't show up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1XyTbPwhlw

BD66 replies on Apr 22, 2018:
As far as comparing fear of Hell with fear of Global Warming. It's interesting to watch Morgan Freeman's documentary on religion. He said the one common thing about all major religions is a day of reckoning or Armageddon. If people don't straighten up and act right, they will suffer. If they do straighten up and act right (according to what that religion says is right) they will be rewarded. So humans have this built into their psyche. Those who don't fall for the religious BS from people like Joel Osteen, are still susceptible to other BS from people like Al Gore. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HOIoPme54XU

I'm not quite sure what's even being debated here in this thread, but you have to look at what human weaknesses cause most humans to believe a particular set of ridiculous fairy tales. Many of us who don't believe in those fairy tales may have the same weaknesses, they just manifest themselves in different ways. For example, no sane person, when weighing the evidence for and against whether Noah's Ark happened, should ever believe that it did indeed happen. Likewise, if you look at the two extremes in governments, whenever a government has minimal power to tax and harm its citizens (USA before 1913, tax havens like Lichtenstein, etc.) you get freedom, a high standard of living, and prosperity. Every time a government has maximum power to tax and harm its citizens (Stalin's Russia, Mao's China, Hitler's Germany, Pol Pot's Cambodia), you get misery and mass murder. When you look at the two extremes, no sane person should conclude that people are better off with a powerful government that can take away all their earnings, and kill them.
