@rogerbenham It was all too late when I started to figure out what this circus was about. Too little, too late does nothing. I worked for Ontario Hydro, part-time! Wadda joke! Mr. Tom Parkinson, CEO, committed fraud for $45 thousand on his expence account- so after 4 years, of fun and games, they gave him $3 million severance pay. ALL fucking fun and games!

I don't quite understand your 2 x 4 remark. If you had said 'a pile of sand', I would understand. I had a trade in the air force that I didn't particularly want, an armourer. A bullet goes a greater distance through hard wood than through sand. The sand closes off the vacume behind the bullet. And no, I have never owned a gun, and guns don't interest me.

@Marionville Marje, now that I'm a geezer I must take my driver's exam every two years. The irritating, patronizing tester said, "Now remeber, do your 15 minutes of exercise every day." I got along with the guy sitting beside me- he was also in his 80s.He shook his head in disbelief. He said something about his skying all day, the day before. About a month ago, I was with the over 50 crowd. We did a three hour hike and it was a good one with about 10 upgrades, long and short, at about 45 degrrees. To me that was a relativelly easy one. Stupiid habits aren't about living forever- or not. It is about the quality of life- strokes do VERY mean things to a person.

I just read a bit about Israel Ehrenberg. He was born in East London in 1905. He did not have a doctorate from Cambridge or Oxford. He was dismissed from Rutgers. Apparently he also "appeared regularly on The Tonight Show". Why would anyone with serious concepts appear on a show designed for pulp entertainment? He had serious race issues! I have Jewish friends- NOT token friends, and my doctor is Jewish- BUT I also am dealing with a couple of Jewish lawyers- they would steal granny's false teeth. And although there is only the smallest percentage of all reigious groups, some actually do good works. I have NO 'residual' interest in any religious group though; to do so one must believe in moronic fairy tales.

@FrayedBear Yes, I read that long ago, that de Valera had said, "... history will record the greatness of Michael Collins...". I am not going to get into all the history about the assasination of Collins in Cork- and the biggest reason is that I don't know enough about it. My old granny was from Cork. I don't like the name of the sports clubs being called "Rebels" though. Excuse my twist in logic too. I believe Winston Churchill was Foreign Secretary in 1922 and he sent in the Black and Tans- that caused enough anger to cause the Republic to be formed. Thank you Winny!
