@MikeFlora I see, so I suppose that means you'll be keeping an eye on us here as well? I know you haven't bothered anyone since you left the other group, but I still find it mildly humorous that you are still lurking about. I know we have opposing views, but I still try to stay civil in debates so long as nobody is hurling insults my way that is. I'll be hanging around the Senate group, if your preference is neutral territory, although you already know my plans for here. Regarding your last comment, the larger focus (to me anyway) is standing up for our gun rights, as gun control measures have failed and in turn caused more fatalities. Having less guns is not the answer either.
Oh 2018 what a shit time to be an American.

I'd like to tinker around with the live chat function as it is new, and the more we use it the more feedback we could give to suggest in making it better. Participation isn't an issue, it's a matter of having it available for those who would like to use it. Regarding Discord, I experimented with that app awhile back and did not care for it much. Also, I had already extended an invitation to quite a few of my fellow conservatives on here to join me in starting a group on another platform, and you know what one I am referring to, I don't want to say the name publicly as I don't want the liberals here to possibly follow me to the other site.

The latter of the two things you mentioned above I agree with and do, the former is another story... I can't honestly say I've lived a life of minimal impact. In fact, through the years I've had considerable impact, from being extremely clumsy in my youth and often times walking/crashing into people or objects from experiencing significant impact when I was in karate class (I found kumite to be painful at times but fun all the same). To this day I still lead a life of moderate impact, especially at night when things are dark I tend to leave an impact (crashes into the nightstand). I hope you are okay with the impact I have left behind over the years, and I sincerely hope this comment positively impacts everyone who may come across it. ;)

@MikeFlora I'm from Pennsylvania, a state known for coal mining, and I must disagree with you when you say coal mining is dying. Coal is not a dying industry, if you Google search and take the time to do proper research you would find that quite a few companies and organizations are optimistic about the future of coal. Here is an interesting read by the way- https://www.williamson.edu/2018/01/clean-coal-power-plants-and-why-they-are-important/ While coal mining can be dangerous, there certainly are dangers present with natural gas too, and the point is that both present dangers, and not about which one is worse. The coal jobs were disappearing because of the push from environmentalist groups, and not because it is a dying industry or lack of job positions in that field. You say you are concerned about Trump because he is our current President, fair enough. I still say no opinions on job performance should be made until he finishes his term, afterall genuine progress takes time, and he has only been in office for 16 months. So many people want to focus on the negatives and not the positives, patience in this country are seriously lacking. Lastly, when Obama was in office I respected him regardless of how much I may have disagreed with him, and always referred to him as the President, and I have not witnessed the same courtesy being given to the current President on this site by roughly ninety percent of the community members.

That would depend on how many symbols as such would be used, are we talking say, more than five or six? Knowing that there are some really skilled hackers out there these days, I wouldn't say with absolute certainty that you'd be safe adding symbols, and just making your password really long more often than not does the trick. Bruteforcing techniques are gradually improving as well.

@Donotbelieve I was quite aware of that, and did notice your restraint there, which I can imagine was difficult to do. I go on the offense whenever I hear religion creeping into our public schools.
What are your predictions for the next ten to twenty years?
SpikeTalon comments on May 14, 2018:
I imagine a world filled with nanotechnology and cyborgs...my kinda world.

@Betty Well, I'm sure there would still be some people left, afterall I imagine not everyone would be aboard with such concepts.
This was an article I typed on another platform about the FireFox web browser.

I'm looking into the option for a live chatroom for this group.
beansontoast comments on May 14, 2018:
Sounds like it could be interesting. Would we just have a general kickabout of maybe focus on a specific topic per session. Which US timezone are we talking about so we can align?
SpikeTalon replies on May 14, 2018:
EST for timezone, and the chats could be random, whatever someone wants to discuss. There were a few members who had wanted to ask questions, and I figured a live chatroom would be a good place to ask away. It's good that Admin offers a chatroom to groups for two days, because at least for one of those days I could be present at least most of the time.
I'm considering the live chatroom option for the group I host Cyber Security & Information ...

You're IT and cyber security, huh? Nice. I developed software and websites in the late 90s and going into the 2000s. I worked in C, C++, Visual Basic, SQL, HTML, and Javascript. I can barely remember any of it now. A couple of Tom Clancy novels that involved cyber warfare got me curious and I ...

The group is also for talking about anything tech gadgets and related news and cryptocurrencies/Bitcoin. If you are looking for a good source to learn coding etc, I would recommend checking out Cybrary, they offer free instructional video courses on various areas of cyber security.

Why not just set up a Discord server?
SpikeTalon replies on May 14, 2018:
That's an idea, but would also be another site to get involved in. Two platforms are enough for me to keep up with, and at times I can barely keep up with those. They have a chat function here, might as well test it out.

Why do men think that they should be with younger women?
SCbeelady comments on May 13, 2018:
I don't know why men like younger women. I personally like younger men for a few reasons. 1. They are healthy. 2. They aren't caught up with all old prejudice men of my age are. 3. They like to do things. Dance, hike, fish, camping. 4. Better in the sheets. Now I know this isn't true for every ...

@FoundMyNietzsche I know what you mean with the double standard. I think the only way to put such societal views like that to rest would be to fearlessly live life as you wish to. You're certainly correct about the first part, 40 anything is far from being old, and I don't even think 60 anything is old. I never considered her a "cougar" or anything of the like, just an everyday individual with whom I had quite a bit in common with and experienced fun times with. In other words, a true partner. I remain hopeful the future holds promising change along with a more accepting attitude.
