I’m not sure that I’ve ever done anything selfless. It makes me happy to be thought of well.

I occassionally pick the most unhappy looking person and pay for their food.

I don't know, I have had an open house for many of the younger generation when they were homeless, certainly kept me poor. Never any assistance or thanks from their parents who knew where they were and sometimes sent them to me.A few years ago I changed houses so my son could manage my affairs while I spent a few years caring for an ex until she finally had a life saving liver transplant. Living at the hospital 24/7 doing everything. Again, not so much as a thank you from her or her family. People really suck.

That's bad.
Sometimes people have a realisation later on in life, and gratitude comes then. That's happened to me. I've realised what people have done for me, years later.
Also. Sometimes people just feel really bad when they're in hospital. People will never forget what you did for them.
Talking about it would make it less "selfless".

My friend traveled to Europe once. I think that was pretty selfless of me.
