How about a happy medium? I definitely need someone who shares my moral values. But I tend to be a bit submissive and prefer someone who is more take charge (but respectful and not walk all over me). I want someone who has some of my hobbies and interests but also their own.

For some reason when talking about groups of humans birds & flocks are the terms used. We are herd animals, not flocks of sheep or birds. If you think not: 1) you are in an elevator with no one you know -- try to face any direction but the front of the car; 2) you are in a theater watching a movie -- you may not physically react to a funny or horror scene, but you do in your heart -- why?

The birds one... like opposite of me would be a trump supporter and we do not attract in our oppositeness.

These sayings and others become popular because of elements of truth that resonate. They are only relatively accurate depending on how or to what they are applied. Context determines accuracy more than the sayings themselves.

Paula Abdul song comes to mind....???

Opposites do attract , but down the road there will be trouble. I'd have to say birds of a feather.

Depends, when your young it is both as biology rears it's head. In later year's you look for more like minded as the mind and experience over rules biology.

Birds of a feather.

Definitely birds of a feather. That's partly why we're all on this site.

With divorce rates as high as they are though I'd say opposites certainly do attract...at first.

Birds of a Feather. Eventually the opposites will repel.

Two very general statements which can be interpreted in various ways.
To me Birds of a Feather means those who have similar tastes and values.
Opposites attract is for me a little more complicated. We o need others who complement or help us with out weak points or soften an aspect that may be to strong.

Tricky subject in my opinion because much depends on the specifics.

The bird is the word

Yes. Both. Sometimes in a matter of minutes.

I find that is a situational thing, and it is always dependent on the individuals. Either way, either situation can work or fall miserably apart.

Birds of a feather refers to friends, opposites refer to sex partners, in my humble opinion ?

Birds of a feather catch each others diseases
Opposites attract problems

I reckon birds of a feather flock together is stronger. I think it's a biological urge. Opposites attract is more of a psychological thing, and I reckon even in those cases people are looking for more commonality between the people than differences.

In relationships, opposites attract! Nobody wants to be with someone just like themselves...boring! People befriend like kinds...but they remain separate!

I would have to say, birds of a feather.

Are you looking for a group activity , or a one on one . It's hard to play baseball , without a group of like minded friends . On the other hand , a lock won't work , unless the key is an opposite .
