Friends I find myself confuzzled....

I was talking to a gal on OKC and she turned me down based off the fact that I'm a Sagittarius....

Keep in mind I don't expect every woman was placed on the planet for my satisfaction and I know if I were God's gift to women I'd probably be the gift equivalent of picking out a gift from a drug store toy aisle...It actually doesn't hurt my feelings to be turned down.

That being said do folks really base their possible match with a person based off of zodiac signs anymore? I thought that was just a 70's thing or something crazy people too lazy to take the time to get to know a person would do...

Not to mention it seems to me if you consider one of the astrological signs was kicked out when we adopted the 12 month calender you should probably take the 12 remaining signs and their potential in a match with a grain of salt.

Yeah, if someone is that serious about zodiac signs they probably believe a lot off other goofy shit too. Perhaps you should consider yourself lucky that this happened now before you invested time and energy into building a relationship

Oh I certainly felt the wind on that dodged bullet for sure...More just confused that some people still put faith in the idea.

@josh23452 it's been around for a long time. it's probably not going anywhere any time soon.

Some people still very much use astrological signs to help guide them. Like religions - it helps to be on the same page . She clearly is not on yours ...

Well, you definitely dodged a bullet.

Keanu Reeves ain't got nothin on me.

Awe! I am saggitarius too. We match!!! Lol
By the way, you forgot to add that to your pofile, maybe also mention favorite color. I am kidding, she must have been trying to find an excuse. I can't see someone truly believing on it. If true, then is a good thing. She is a nut case ?

I haven't even been asked that in at least 30 years.

That was dated in the 80's.

People still do astrology?

If not a zodiac sign then it'd be some other trivial nuance that would leave you scratching your head in amused, confusion. Baffled not by the act, but at the mental gymnastics that one has to pull to not only commit to such a thing but justify it too.

Dismissing you because of your sign is cowardly, if that is the real reason. People are people.

I know someone who uses the zodiac and applies it to everything in their and everyone elses lives. She uses it to explain everything from your attitude and character to your love life to your career to whatever. She swears by it.

You're not "confuzzled", you're hurt because you were rejected which is normal. Now you're coming here to be validated while you lightly mock her, which I'm sure a lot of folks here will go along with because it's also "normal" although I think weak. They'll talk to you about astrology and how it's horse-shit and tell you how you "lucked out" because they're sure she's nuts and you'll feel better about yourself. You know damned well that some people still believe in astrology.

I am sorry you were rejected and your astrological sign is a crappy reason for it. Really it was most likely never going to work out with her, as most relationships don't anyhow and you both clearly didn't have strong common ground. Move on, but belittling people in the guise of confusion is a poor choice and you should work to truly accept that someone didn't choose you for a reason you don't agree with as that is more often the case. Good luck.

As I said friend..not hurt just find the reasoning interesting. Simple and sweet but I suppose you know the inner workings of every person's mind

@josh23452 I'm not sure if you actually believe you're not hurt or just think I will but either way you're incorrect.

I don't know the inner workings of every person's mind, but from your post I can tell you feel hurt by this rejection plain as day. That's why you created the entire post acting confused about common knowledge in order to belittle the person who rejected you and find solace in the validation of others here. Understanding your reaction to this event does not really equal knowing the inner workings of every person's mind but if exaggerating in that manner makes you feel better I'm not really surprised as it falls in line with your reasoning behind your original post.

@CoastRiderBill Sorry, I don't condone belittling a woman because she rejected you and I'm not all for supporting someone who does. I'm also not really worried about your thoughts on granting people the benefit of the doubt as the original poster didn't grant the woman who rejected him the benefit of the doubt but you'll support him "at face value". You have fun on the shitty people bandwagon and I'll be over here feeling all my shame.

Believe if you go back far enough there were originally 13 signs of the zodiac but I'm not sure doesn't make any difference anyhow but now they have three Landers on an asteroid that's cool. Best of luck

Well yes that was one of my points that was apparently non-senseacle...

Now keep in mind my rebuttal was more out of curiosity towards her reasoning more than out of feeling rejection.

But I mentioned how if going off of astrology to be any semblance of accurate you'd have to adjust for the 13th zodiac sign that was kicked out...Our good friend Ophiucus... Especially if were going off of Greek astrology it makes sense as opposed to using the 12 month calender that was adopted years and years after the the ancient Greeks..

Her response was

"Only a sag would mention Ophiucus"

Anything zodiac or related is for entertainment purposes only… I date a girl who believes in that stuff, often says that she has to treat me certain ways at certain times because I’m a Gemini, I’m like ok... So where would you like to go for dinner?

I think the zodiac stuff is cute and fun for sure but I also think that looking for accuracy in it is like people who see Jesus in a cloud or on a slice of toast...Youre either mentally unhinged or you find it cause you're looking for it.

What a sweet man you are. I am not a big enough person to not roll my eyes at least sometimes in those situations. I try to remind myself that everybody is on their own journey, and not to judge, but sometimes it's damn hard to value diversity of thought.

Why be with someone that believes that crock of shit? IMO you dodged a bullet.

Oh rest assured I agree..My confuzzledment is born out of wondering how long she's been addicted to LSD

Astrology ia too goofy to be a bullet, it's more like a foam baseball bat.

ughhh.... bullet dodged in my opinion. Who knows how many superstitious or illogical beliefs she had. I find I am drawn and attracted to the nerdy intellectual types more than the creative New Age spiritual types. What a foolish reason to reject you. I would guess she's had bad experiences with saggitarius' in her life OR she's heard bad stories about saggitarius men OR some stupid article told her that her sign should avoid those types of men. In any case, I'd argue it is an illogical coping mechanism she uses to try to keep herself safe. That's my 2 cents.

Blow it off. As A Leo, I find it easy to do that, but you are gonna have to concentrate. ? I kid.

0

Don't sweat it. I am saggi as well, and it was always my exes that tossed me. Of course in my case they probably came to their senses.

Is it considered a type of religion?
