Are there childish or childlike activities that you still enjoy?
I collect plush toys/stufffed animals and canβt sleep without one. I collect Hello Kitty anything. I enjoy animated movies almost more than I do live action.
As for myself, I am fascinated by insects of any kind, just as when I was a child, and as for feeling younger than your physical age, I believe it to be a healthy, prosperous and positive pursuit. Every time you hear someone 'banging' on about feeling old, that should be enough to confirm your supposed 'delusion'.
I love insects. And spiders. Always been fascinated by spiders and I still am.
I have been collecting postage stamps since I was 11 years old. ?
I did keep mine since childhood but a friend of mine is a more avid collector these days so I gave mine away.
@graceylou I am going to attempt to sell a lot of them in the very near future. Stamps actually taught me a lot about the world. They made me curious. ?
@patchoullijulie Yeah. I had stamps from countries I had never heard of and had to look up.
@graceylou IKR. That was me and it created my thirst for exploration and knowledge.
@patchoullijulie I also had a whole library of books (a real library room stocked with books from floor to ceiling; no wonder I turned out to be such a nerd), and my favourite books to collect were ones of fairy tales and legends from all over the world. I loved global international things, and was already quite a world traveler (with my parents) by the time I was 6-7.
@graceylou What a great way to live life. I am the only one in my family to have travelled. All my siblings stayed put........I feel sorry for them. But they are happy to do that so that is ok. I could not imagine staying in the same place all my life eek! ?
@patchoullijulie My family and relatives are world travelers. My older brother especially has been just about everywhere on the planet. It's not so easy for me to travel these days. For my 50th birthday, I'm hoping to travel to Bali, or Thailand, or heck why not Bulgaria, to volunteer for street animal rescues.
@graceylou Bulgaria sounds amazing. I would like a trip to Europe. I was there in the 1970's and would love to go back.
I still love walking down the sidewalk in the fall dragging my feet and kicking piles of leaves. The sound brings back childhood memories for me. At 67 Iβm just a big kid in some ways.
I still have some of my childhood stuffed animals, they are very sentimental to me.
I have a hello kitty touque haha. Might be the cutest cartoon character of all time.
Still enjoy the classic Looney Toons, and other classic cartoons haha.
I still enjoy good grand strategy games such as Hearts of Iron, Arsenal of Democracy, or even Empires in Arms. And I still play with my dog like I am 7 years old.
That's how I am when I play with dogs.
@graceylou Is there any other way to play with them?
@Piratefish I doubt it.
I still like video games and anything related to comics and some Japanese Anime.
I also enjoy watching cartoons, especially if it's something from back in the 80's when I was growing up.
I like to read YA books because they're more fun than adult books. Why is so many adult novels never have any adventures or fun?
I still enjoy legos and playing games a lot. Also love collecting fun looking pillows...
My sister just turned 70 and she has been obsessing about a toy (Wooly Lamb) that was in the family when we were kids, and judging by the number of soft toys sold, I doubt it could be classified as a peculiar perversion.
My brothers and I still talk about old toys too. And we still have most of them now that we are all in our late 40s.
As long as your hobbies don't harm others why worry about it?
Follow your bliss.
I was collecting and making teddy bears. When I retired my daughter sent me coloring books and gel pens. I also pulled out the coloring books I had bought 15 or more years ago. I now have more pencils, pens, markers, soft pastels and oil pastels. Thereβs a lot of freebies online , too. Download and print. I guess this is what my daughter will be inheriting along with the teddy bears. Oh and letβs not forget the beany babies. Lol
Yup. Got beanie babies and colouring books. I do download colouring sheets from online.
