How nonsensical is this? Man sent to jail and fined for recycling Microsoft e-waste but Microsoft not fined for pollution.
I have frequently over the years seen these or similar MS o/s disks for sale at computer swap meets and markets. Those are usually illegal sales but no does anything and if people had any sense they would load a version of Linux onto their computer. Certain versions of Windows are so badly designed that they slow down after a period of time and usage.

No he should have added a metre of string to the package and sold them as bird scarers.
It is nonsensical.. and sad.. cause if he had used linux instead they couldnt of done shit to him..
Copyright law IS really stupid at times, but it is the law..
