Are any of you gonna watch the presidential address tonight or will you wait for the summary on the various comedy shows like SNL et al?

Colbert is doing a live, really live, show after the news.

it will be the livest show

@btroje I'm watching it... live!

I can't stand to see that cocksuckers face much less hear him speak. (no disparagement meant to our gay members or to those women who so unselfishly perform this act). This speech will be nothing but a diatribe of lies and propaganda meant to further Trump's reelection campaign.

He's not getting re elected!

@Cutiebeauty of course not!

@Mortal I don't think you read my post in its entirety. I covered that.

@Mortal you're fine and you have a valid point. There are several other words I could have used. I wish there was strong profanity that did not have sexual connotations. Like the c word is something I rarely use where a woman will see it. Yet in Europe it is used freely. We live in a complicated world.

@Mortal I would like to but I get so angry. I don't want him to have control over my emotions and stress me out. I know my life is going to be at least a year or two shorter because of the stress he has already caused me. I'm not letting him have anymore.

@Mortal I concur! that's like comparing him to an artful lover...ugghh!

@Robecology okay okay I have been berated and I confess my error!

I am going to watch...the looks on Nancy Pelosi's face as well as Pence trying to be invisible...and I really want to watch Stacy Abrams...

Who is Stacy Abrams?

@Cutiebeauty She is going to deliver the Democrat response. She is a super intelligent and progressive black woman who ran for governor of Georgia...she lost but now has a following and we will see her in upcoming politics...she is so awesome to listen to...

@thinktwice oh... I know about her... Just didn't know her name... Thanks ?

@thinktwice I wanted her to win so badly. Beto, she and the Florida gubernatorial race were my biggest disappointments.

@mooredolezal Yes, inspiring and intelligent people are needed and those who lift the people are going to do so much better after the beat down we have all suffered in these two years...I mean, we are a resilient bunch, we Americans, but enough is enough...I found her to be experienced and like Obama, positive in her messages...let's see if she continues this track...

@thinktwice She's also considering running for US Senator for GA in 2020. 😀

I am not going to watch Angry Orange ? Moron...

If I want to watch an hour of fiction there are much better options........

I will be at my weekly Tuesday night gig. So disappointed I will miss Trump...NOT!

what is your weekly tues night gig?

@Skeezwazzle We run an open mic. They can have the band play behind them, or go solo, or have any accompaniment they request. We have to be fast on our feet. We play a lot of songs we have never played including original songs they bring in. We have a little over 200 years experience in our four piece band. It is a lot of fun. The level of talent in Central Texas is pretty amazing.

5

It's sad that if you miss it, it's almost easier to rely on the comedy shows for a no bullshit recap than any of the network stations. Jon Stewart did a better job delivering the news during his run on CC than most networks.

I won't be watching, I have to work. 😟 I'm sure I'll hear all about it, and doubly certain it'll be consternating.

5

I'm sure that the SNL version will be a lot easier to sit through.

4

I heard that MSNBC will be live-streaming a real-time fact check banner...this might get good. I'm pledging $100 to the first politician who stands up and shouts "YOU LIE" while he's talking.

4

always a good idea to check this site after the address: [factcheck.org]

4

Colbert is live tonight..so I'll wait...lolol?

4

I'll be watching Stephen Colbert's recap of Trumpery's nonsense.

i will be watching on msnbc. those of you worried about trump taking some joy in ratings should note that he wouldn't be happy to know msnbc got those ratings. the commentary will be apt. i want to hear abrams' response. i know that they can't write a response that is precisely a commentary on the address, since they would not have heard that when the response was written, but i think the dems won't go around saying trump said things he didn't, like the republicans always did to obama. they would claim he said the opposite of what he did say. that's not a function of having to write the speech in advance. that's a function of deliberate lies and propaganda. we won't be having that in the response tonight. in the address.... if trump says it's tuesday i will have to adjust my calendar to say it's any day BUT tuesday, because i don't think he ever knows what day it is, and if he did know, he'd lie about it.

No and no. He is a serious mess. The comedy shows are meant for us to laugh at his antics, but he's really no laughing matter. He's just plain dangerous.

3

I can't drink that much on a weeknight or I'd never make it to work tomorrow.

Drink? I guess if you have to do a "shot" after every lie you could die of alcohol poisoning...so - good strategy.!

3

No way I don’t listen or believe a word that idiot says. Every time I hear his voice I turn it off, leave the room or change the channel l.

3

I usually keep an eye on Twitter - the fact checkers will be earning their pay tonight- great idea to see the recap on SNL! I will tune in for Stacy Abrams rebuttal - that’s worth watching

Good point. I planned to skip the clown show and just tune in to Stacey. But Nancy’s expressions might be worth a look. Maybe I’ll just watch it on mute! ?

2

I ain't no masochistic asshole to hear his delusional crap over and over again, media shouldn't cover it, just leave the orange turd in CSPAN, unfortunately the media doesn't learn.

2

He's boring, offensive and repetitive. I far prefer to watch clips of the lowlights with concurrent fact-checking. Thank you, Youtube!

2

Nope

2

No
Folding laundry and starting the X-Files all over from the beginning. But only the original 9

2

It will be much more interesting on SNL.

1

No way, not watching it
