Does anybody else hate the over use of the word super. There's got to be a better way to describe your level of excitement then saying "super excited", don't you think?
Agree. Can we ditch the word awesome too?
Well, while we are at it we might as well ditch quasi-scientific words and all those words which refer to nothing more substantial than impure wind.
And 'amazing', just how many goddamn things can be 'amazing, anyway?
@Condor5 The universe encompasses many amazing things.
I DIDN'T GET WHERE I AM TODAY by saying "Super" all the time.
Super, CJ
@diabhal it's weird, I loved that series. I bought the box set recently, but couldn't watch it - it seemed so ... Can't explain it. Your reply madee.laugh out loud, woke my dogs up.
For some reason I can watch Dad's Army or Last of the summer wine and still chuckle at them.
Perhaps I wasn't in the mood for Reggie. I'll try again sometime.
FAR Out is still my go to phrase. Outstanding or WONderful. If I use 'super' it is the sarcastic form.
I don’t mind super but don’t like the phrase “ on point”
I agree. Super on-point!
I understood that the word was overused by those from the U.S. I didn't realize other countries overused it. There are many ways you can express yourself in ultimate fashion by saying massively, awesomely, extremely, and others. Perhaps, this is an opportunity for you to take the lead in demonstrating to others your adroitness in expressing yourself without overusing one expression or word.
I've been guilty of using super; uber; mega; savage and the like. I use a lot of jargon that the young people use because I have a couple of teenish grandkids living here that still like to talk to me from time to time. I also have an 18 year old regularly visiting grandchild
Someday soon they will not have time for me and not long after that they will be gone so if my juvenile language offends the people not related to me, I will survive.
...it sounds like 'canned expressions'...or even 'talking points'! Us, creative people, do love original thoughts, but maybe people are too tired to think...sometimes!?
