Generally don’t bother, but if they’re harping on a specific topic and need to be shut up I can usually think of something. The most effective questions on sexuality I’ve brought up against homophobes is: when did you choose to be straight? Did you honestly feel like you had two equal options or did it just happen automatically? Would any amount of money ever be able to talk you into changing your mind? Then what makes you think anyone else had a choice? Why would there be any gay people born in Muslim, Latin, African countries or the southern US where they’re endlessly persecuted if it were a choice?

I tend to go the question route. I avoid arguments with theists, they are pointless exercises in futility.

Whenever you are talking with a godbot, it is a perfect time to screw with their faith. Don't let them know you are a non secular type, but be sure to ask them why God kills so many people with cancer? Why doesn't god kill people in a compassionate way? Do you think he is mean, or does he actually hate us? Why is the horrible way he kills people part of his plan? Why? Why? Why?

The Bible and children getting cancer.

I do not bother!

It is like talking to a brick wall!

The bricks are set in their ways, hence you have to tear it apart or demolish it completely!

Christianity is too dumb to be taken seriously in the first place?

1

I don't have one because I don't care - I am a non-theist he/she is a Christian wtf do I care?

1

“I know you are, but what am I?” (Yeah, I'm not good at argumentation.)

1

It depends on if I like them or not. If I like them I point out that their "truth" is based on faith and is geographical/tribal. Whereas mine is not.
If I don't like them? Then I tell them that Christianity does not work and they know it. When they argue I give em a slap and wait for them to retaliate, rather than turning the other cheek

It's not about just Christians all religions are man made.

Having a mental health background I believe demonic possession is real and hauntings do occur. My question is that since we invented Hell during the middle ages to scare the peasants, where do these demons dwell? Some alternate reality, plane of existance, or paralell universe? Until we unravel the mysteries of these things , belief in a higher power may just be a matter of labeling as science meets "religion".

You have a mental health background AND believe in demons? I’m assuming you’re not agnostic or atheist.

correct.

🤣😂🤣

Sure, think about it, white Christians, white Europeans think that Christianity will save any race from Extinction only if and only if you give your heart to Jesus Christ.... it'll all come true.... you will have access to kingdom of heaven when you die, your soul will be saved for all eternity haha.
Well the indigenous cultures (Native Americans) here in the Western Hemisphere after 1492 sure got a glimpse of your concocted religion and Christianity.... but prior to that we have existed in the Western Hemisphere for thousands of years... and we have been just FINE without it!👍

We never died off on our own because we didn't have a devout knowledge of European religion.... we never went crazy and started killing each other because we were lost primarily because we never had Christianity!?!?!?
Give me a Fucking break....No these European manufactured and concocted religions are all on you white people!
Indigenous and Native American societies and earliest cultures had our own version of who was our supreme leader & supreme being.... you want to know who that is???
I'll give you a hint: you're walking on him, you're walking on her... it's the Earth that you are standing on currently!👍🌎🌎🌎
That's our God!
This God gives us life-sustaining elements and compounds to remain alive forever.... well that's kind of changing now because you white people are FUCKING that up! Haha

Depends on what they're claiming. There's solid arguments against all of it: God is real, Jesus died for our sins, the universe was created in 6 days, Noah's ark, and so on. None of it holds up to any scrutiny but if they insist it's real I ask them to show me anything to support it that doesn't take the form of mindless faith or a feeling in their heart.

Ah, the one true God, which one? There are quite a few one true Gods at the moment!

I found one at the back of the fridge the other day and had good reason to fear it.

I simply point out 'God' had nothing to do with religion - man cooked that up all on his own and it's been one cruelty after another in the name of their 'God'.
Is there a 'God', who the fuck knows, what IS clear man has a real propensity for meanness and cruelty and 'God' gives them a reason. That is sad.

What did Jesus ever do, that we can see, to improve the lives of mankind?
As a Prophet, what prophecies did Jesus ever make that have been fulfilled?
Jesus was a charismatic orator....he said some great sayings.....but what did he ever do?
IMO, all we have from Jesus are unfulfilled promises. We have nothing concrete that we can see. Did Jesus die for your sins? How can you tell if he did or not? How can you tell if you still have sins or not?
Jesus' Resume...WHAT DID HE DO? NOTHING!!!!!

He did say that he would return before the last of his followers then alive died. Don't think he got that right.

I heard he was very popular at weddings.

Excellent point.@Fernapple

Yes...he brought the wine..@Purplefan

Show me your falsifiable evidence

Prove there is a God.

Typical counter arguments

The bible sez so. Retort: bible also says there is talking animals which we know is false, therefore bible is not to be trusted. (One can ramble on about why the bible isn't to be trusted). Also ramble on about there are other books for other gods there why not believe in lots and lots of Gods as well?

How was the universe created? Retort: Don't know. Don't claim to know. Who created God?

God just is. Retort: we know all things have an origin therefore God must have one as well. Who created God? What is His origin?

There's a God because I believe. Retort: I believe in heart of every person there is melted cheese. Believing it doesn't make it so.

I talk to God. Retort: got any recordings so I can listen? If God speaks, surely others can hear it unless you make up those conversations in your head where nobody else can hear. After all when a person has **other voices in their head** we judge them as insane. Are you nuts?

There comes a point when they stare at you long enough to realize staring at you is impolite and they walk away.

@linxminx Get your forks in. 😉

Go read the Bible

The absolute mediocrity of all religious doctrine.

They are dangerous. When they band together and attack they use their god and group mentality to justify whatever they want, including causing physical harm or death to their victims. I have been on the receiving end of this and if I am alone and confronted by them I will either keep quiet or lie out of fear for my personal safety. I do not mess with them. History is full of their exploits, including genocide.

1

That depends, on the situation, the person and what has been said to start of, besides that I do not argue with them but ask questions which they usually cannot answer and try to get away from me.

1

The best argument is to not have one

What’s the topic?

I don't argue with them. It's pointless.
