Just had my Evangelist Jesus Jockey neighbor knock at my door with a petition because our local City Council has threatened him with a Court Case IF he does NOT remove the 12' high wooden cross that he built and concreted in place OUTSIDE of the boundary of his property.
He has actually dug up a small part of the road, about 2 feet away from his fence line, we live in a lane not a street btw, and in the last 13+ hours there have over 30 complaints lodged by motorists, etc, that it IS a traffic hazard.
He was very unimpressed when I declined to support his petition by signing it and proceeded to tell me, quite angrily I might add, that " Heathens such as myself and those Heathen Council Members will suffer the wrath of God and be sent to spend eternity in the Hell fires because he WILL be praying for it to happen and God will hear his prayers and ALWAYS sees that they are answered."
The writ from the Council states that " He MUST remove the obstruction and pay for the repairs to the road surface WITHIN the next 24 hours, the writ was dated and signed at 4.30pm yesterday, OR they WILL send a work crew out to cut it down and remove it AND he will be required to pay ALL the costs involved."
Gee, I hope they do send the work crew, I know most of them and I reckon they'll be only too glad to cut up give me the cross for firewood instead of carting out to the local rubbish tip.
As a side note, the last time something similar happened around town it COST the home owner a total of 21,549 dollars for the wages, usage, etc, of the work crew, chainsaws, a tipper truck, a cherry-picker and road resurfacing machine for doing nearly the same thing by building a religious shrine that blocked a public footpath.
When are these religiotards going to learn?

What I don't get is that if 'their god' will punish the 'evil' doer why do they insist on doing anything. Seems like they have little faith in their god.

I have to agree with you sending out a work crew would be a good idea, there should be some penalty for being that stupid.

I’d love to have been there to eavesdrop on that exchange you had with him yesterday! 😁

That's a great story... So he decided not to remove it himself... Even better... So he basically told you, "help me or I'll get my big brother after you!!" So funny 🤣😂

Bloody hell, I WAS only expecting to get the wood from the cross dumped in my driveway BUT the council crew decided, so it seems that after my coffee and the lady with her sandwiches, we both deserved a little extra and now we both have a share of a 2 and a half ton truck load of not only the cross plus the dead trees that they have been either removing from around town and the branches they have trimming from the living trees as well, all nicely and neatly stacked along side the driveways.

Btw, just did a quick measure of the timber he used, 8" width, 6" thickness and those great council workers have cut it into nice, neat lengths of 12" perfect for the fire place.

I'm always shocked when I hear stories like this.Jerks like that seem to be everywhere so I don't understand why I'm shocked.

I thought the best part is how your neighbor is going to pray that you burn in hell. The all loving Christian god, ha.

Lol, like god is up there with a magic sinner-zapper. Isn’t the love of Christ glorious?🙄🙄🙄

File a restraining order. Now.

What, him or us?
The Council has already arrived, work crew and all, shit, I'd love to have the sized chainsaw they are using, it's bloody huge.

Hubris costs...if he had put it on his property you would have had to chaff under it.

Sounds like a pretentious ass who doesn't want his grass spoiled.

@Beowulfsfriend He doesn't have grass (lawn) in his yard, it's all covered in mix of finely crushed rock and cement powder watered in and compacted down into a layer about 3" thick, his excuse is that "weeds are the seed plants of Satan and grass(lawn) is Satan's chosen playground."
When he first moved in, AFTER his mother bought the house for him btw, he used a Bobcat and a Tipper truck to remove, at a rough guess, about 7 tons of the top soil, digging his backyard down to well below the level of the lane outside his yard.
I'm waiting and hoping that when we finally get out of this drought and the rains come again, in bloody heavy torrents as they sometimes do, he MAY learn his lesson when his entire backyard ends up under about 2 or more feet of water from the run-off from the laneway since his place is the lowest in the entire block.
He WILL end up with his own little version of the Sea of Galilee then, maybe he can practice walking on water just like his mythical idol....LOL.
