Lifelong pursuit of TV, movies, and music with a few drinks on the side and some sleeping. What I mean here is being able to bring the TV, movies, and music into my home for free.

I used to masturbate a lot, but the older you get, the less practical that becomes... now I read a lot more.

That was my first thought. I like how Tom Waits says it. "I don't mind working, cuz I used to be jerking off most of the time, in bars..." I still don't read as much as I want to. Oh well, I'll get there

@ownworstenemy I slowed down considerably when I hit 50.

TMI, right?

do you realize all your seed that you wasted. no hope for you, you're going straight to hell.

@callmedubious The sin of Onan wasn't masturbating, it was pulling out too soon. Like Trump in Syria.

Thanks for sharing that with us Paul..........

@Paul4747 When I hit sixty, I kept forgetting what I was doing.......................

@Paul4747 it's still taboo in 2019? I don't know. The more guys I hang around the more I hear these types of conversations. I don't find it particularly Zen inducing, but can be calming. I like the reading and going for walks though, that's "centering".

Doing good gives me a feeling of inner peace. For example, I spend about an hour every morning walking through a local park, picking up litter.

Playing my guitar....and READING!

I'd have to say that I have a few.
Gardening, Doing Artworks/Writing Poetry and in winter chopping firewood would rate the highest if there were a list.

good stuff

Walking beside the rolling river behind my house. Seeing what the latest high river has deposited on the shores. Things change out here moment by moment. Trees... The huge boulders sticking out from the cliffs, the wildlife... It's magical almost.

There is also a place... Ruins from a Ferry business about a mile or so down river. The guys wife (presumably) planted daffodils there hundreds of years ago. They have since grown wild and take up acres and acres of land. Every April a lot of the neighbors make the trek to see if they have all bloomed yet. It is nothing short of amazing!

Well, my therapist said I should take a whole stack of paper, then write the names of the people who piss me off the most on different sheets and then burn them. I've found this to be a highly cathartic process.

But now what am I supposed to do with all these sheets of paper?

Erase the names. That's evidence.

Listening to music, particularly prog rock.

I find the interlude in Marillion's, Ocean Cloud to be particularly peaceful. It always makes me feel like I'm on a boat in the middle of the ocean on a day with calm weather.

I discovered Marillion late in life, so I haven't covered their entire catalog, but I do like "Afraid of Sunlight".

Hiking out in nature.... and reading a book with a purring cat on m lap.

Having something done, completed. Regardless of what that might be. The sense of having something done is my own definition of success.

Meditation.

Playing in the dirt - I mean gardening.

And I never never play with the garden hose, I'm cleaning the driveway.

I LOVE women who play in the dirt!

4

A good relationship
Playing good music
Nature walks

4

Traveling and gardening.

For me it's scuba diving. I leave all of life's problems on the surface, and I get to relax and focus on the task at hand.

3

Picking up a guitar and play some music.

3

Reading and writing with pen & paper.

Walking also

3

Two things -- listening to classical music and fishing.

I'm always more relaxed after taking a walk around a local trail under the canopy of scented trees around the lagoon. In fact I think I'll do that right now. 🙂

Otherwise, bicycling along the path by the coast is relaxing, or swimming in the evenings, under the stars.

3

Hanging with my prodigiously wonderful wife of 27 years. She is a peaceful person to be around. Yet we also have moments of delirious laughter together.

Does weed count? FO twenty!!!
