Carpe Diem, yesterday is gone, and tomorrow has yet to unfold.

Yesterdays are gone but we try like hell to remember them. GROG

We live in the Goldy Locks period. Late enough to enjoy the marvels of modern medicine, Jet travel, the digital age but not so late hopefully that we have to suffer the effects of the climate disaster that our generation has helped create.

Astrophysicist Krauss explains that the universe is in a sweet spot where total energy is about equal with total mass in the universe...and we are here to experience the time when earth exists. Lucky us. GROG

@GROG I was lucky to see Laurance Krauss present at the Southern Oregon University a couple of years ago. Once in a large auditorium and once in a smaller room. He does a good program.

I find the fact I am here on this Earth extraordinary. Especially given the mother I had. I do believe a blog post on her is forthcoming. mmmm Maybe I've made one already. lol. Time to research my own posts. Anyways...I'm glad to be here each and every day.

Um - sure. Great time to be...alive.

It irks me when atheists are as dead certain about religious matters as theists are. They’re religious in their atheism. I find Dawkins this way.
I much prefer the scientific viewpoint of leaving the door open a crack. Open to what may be or fine tuning or whatever.

I'm in the wrong hemisphere. Winter Solstice is in June down here but happy Winter Solstice to the Northerners!

Thanks. How are you doing with the heat? Oz is lit up at both ends these days. Are you OKay? GROG

@GROG Thanks mate. All good in Melbourne now but we are being told it is going to be a bad one this year and also our power grid is expected to have difficulties. Hope they are wrong. Yesterday my car was telling me it was 42 degrees C driving to work and it was 39 degrees C in the evening. Luckily no bad winds yet though. You guys know the drill with your wild fires and didn't California start planting our exploding trees, the Eucalypts? Happy Santa day to you and yours.

It depends who and where you are.

If you are in the privileged West yes. Not if you are victim of trafficking to an international paedophile ring, or starving in Africa or subject to all manner of tortured under a totalitarian regime!

Yikes, don’t want to think about that.

Well, I live in South Florida, today was 82 degrees and tonight it will go down all the way to 72. Brrrrr!

It’s a balmy -24c here tonight. Almost the same in Fahrenheit

@Bilbobagins get your hands on some hawaiian tropic!

My being here isn't luck, it's a natural and necessary occurrence from the events of the past.

That being said, good solstice to you and your family.

Thank you. I believe in it because it is much better than Sandy's Claws or Caesar Chrisp.
