"'Plandemic' Is Dangerous, Viral Nonsense --- A pseudo-documentary full of outrageous, verifiably false claims is still going viral, despite being repeatedly removed from YouTube and Facebook."

Many of us have long shook our heads at such stuff, thinking "ah well, its silly but I'll just stay off the subject with them". But its getting to be where we have to confront people about such idiocy. It would be one thing if they just suffered personal consequences, but they risk killing other people. This American anti-science madness is why some countries in Europe have been getting on top of the problem so much faster than us.

Are there people in your life believing this stuff?

Unfortunately, yes. The same critical thinking that makes us agnostics also protects us from such nonsense. One danger of religion is that its irrational beliefs makes one more susceptible to other irrationalities, like political and economic fanaticism.

I know one of my brothers in law believe this garbage. Which means my sister may also.
This is the same BIL who was trying to argue with me about immigration. Sad he thought our 'immigrants ' were coming across the border from the Philippines. smh

I read a few days ago that the person who posted it kept deleting it on purpose so it would look like it was being censored.

I tried to find the article, but my search kept coming up with facebook and youtube deleting it because it's a false piece of shit.

Unfortunately, a couple of my facebook evangelical friends believe it's true and has tried to pass it on.

Here is my opinion. I have no idea whether its right or wrong but what is non-negotiable is that she has a right to say it. Her critics have a right to debunk it vigorously and people have the right to decide based on the evidence to decide for themselves. By removing the videos all you are doing is making people believe and want to see it more. I feel better thing to do is have a disclaimer that youtube doesn't agree with it and not pay attention to it.

I plan to watch it take notes and then research myself. I don't need people on right telling me she is right and people on the left telling me that she's wrong. I'll do my own damn research and determine it myself

I disagree. This isn’t a matter of differing opinions. This isn’t “I think chocolate ice cream is the best even though you think vanilla is the best”. It’s facts we are dealing with, in medicine. This is science. And we’ve always got people doing stupid and deadly stuff in response to what Trump says (like ingesting chloroquine and injecting disinfectant) and this is tailor made for his crowd. The woman in the video is a long discredited “scientist” whose only published work was retracted when it was discovered she had lied about the results. I believe that is what led to her fraud conviction. And that’s it. She’s a quack.

Yes, and it is so disheartening. Some I know are clearly disturbed and have issues. They have difficulty with other things too. Some seem like otherwise reasonable people. Go figure.

I have on occasion, found myself talking with someone who, while we maybe had different perspectives, he or she was speaking intelligently and engaging in discussion, then suddenly they go off into conspiracy land.

Now we have to listen to the conspiracy censorship allegations.

Um, social media is trying to save our lives.

What concerns me the most about this sensationalizing and fear mongering video is the number of people who took the bait. I had several people send me this video and asking me if I thought it could possibly be true. There are a lot of holes in the video that should be obvious but people are cooped up and anxious and getting paranoid, they are willing to jump at anything because of the lack of leadership being shown by our governments.

That really fits with an article I just read:

[eand.co]

From the article: ** I tell someone a simple black and white fact. “Hey, do you know that Americans live five years less than Europeans?” Bang! Along comes a string of justifications, denials, misinformation, Fox News talking points, followed by mistrust, personal attacks, and finally, rage. Here’s another example. “Hey, did you know Brexit will cost you thousands every year, and make you poorer to begin with?” Snap! The very same string, in response. Don’t you think that’s odd? I do.

But the really strange, bizarre, and weird thing isn’t all that — ignorance has always been around, hasn’t it? It’s that today, ignorance is willful. Deliberate. Proud. Boastful, cocky, and exultant. Pompous, high-sounding, and aggrandizing. It waves banners and sings chants and discusses philosophies. Ignorance today thinks of itself as Aristotle by way of Descartes and Kant. The really strange thing about now is that ignorance parades itself as enlightenment.

@Observer-Effect The wise man questions himself all the time, the fool always assumes he knows everything.

Trump supporters are so enamored with their anti-christ and false prophet in the WH, that they eagerly convince themselves that any criticism is a conspiracy to bring them down in November. Even when their self-proclaimed savior obviously screws up royally, they blame everybody else.

Trump has learned to emulate the confident tone of the xtian charlatans so well that he slips right past what small defenses they have against lies and stupidity. None of his supporters have many, if any, critical thinking skills left. Propaganda like plandemic caters to the same group of gullible people.

I saw most of the video. The article validates my impression that Mikovits lied repeatedly, then shamelessly in promotion of her book. I understand the notion of free speech, but this kind of wholesale misinformation is entirely comparable to shouting fire in a crowded theater.

2

it is indeed going viral and that's scary -- people don't use their heads and believe anything they hear. and if you tell them where the holes are they say yeah that's what they want you to believe, "sheeple"! geez. logic is dead.

This video may well be nothing more that a horribly shabby bit of PR to sell Mikovits's book.

However, my intuition suggests that there is a significant probability 25-45% that this whole venture, the PR and the book and Mikovits herself, are part of a larger disinformation campaign. The style of the disinformation closely compares to the conspiracy disinformation that was disseminated for 9/11 and for UFO disparagement.

UFO community originally defined the concept of the Deep State. It is this Military-Industrial-Intelligence Complex that disseminates disinformation to obfuscate so-called national security issues.

The point being that Mikovits's book may just be the beginning of much more conspiracy BS, utterly screwy nonsense intended to confuse and obstruct rational discussion of national security issues. That is, issues that relate to the security of the 1% and higher.

It's much more plausible than what most organized religions believe and the majority of the Earth's population still follows some form of organized religion.

Informative article from Vice here. I have only recently become aware of Q-anon and all their nonsense along with those who believe it. Way too many believe it.

Yesterday at a local license bureau that had recently re-opened, I stopped by in uniform to see their hours. A line had formed outside and I asked a question or two of the 9 people there in the line. Since they were limiting people inside the building I wanted to get an idea of how long it might take and how long others had been in the line. A woman spoke up and told me "The Democrats want Socialism and it looks to me like they are going to get it." She thought her response would explain lines, viruses, sheltering in place, distancing, etc. I replied that I see her concern but my take on it all is this is what the current GOP wants and it is a different type of Socialism that we have all seen before. A few there agreed with me and shook their heads as I got into Q-anon tactics and beliefs. Being in uniform and working right up the street from that office either appeared to give me more authority, or in the end it might even put my job at risk. I do not care and could not help it. I think people need to know the truth and Q-anon is not part of it.

So this life is not real and everything is a lie? This pandemic with over 1 million people who have so far been affected has not really happened. The global economy has been sacrificed in order to support one big conspiracy. A conspiracy by whom and for what aim? All species have had a history of pandemics. Even on this island last year an overpopulation of rabbits caught a disease and perished. I was told this happens on a regular bases every 7 years or so. Our own history has had lots of pandemics and after this country was first trod upon by Europeans a series of diseases wiped out most of the indigenous peoples across the whole continent. Don't we have enough problems to worry about without the crazies throwing more crap on the fire. I would ask by whom and for what cause.
I actually feel good about this sort of nonsense as it shows me how lucky I am to not live in crazyland. There is really something to be said living on an island in which most residents are grounded and actually care for one another.

Yup... All total BS.

This is a good article to help you push back on this ridiculous video.

I have no idea what this is. Just dropped in quickly. It sounds like another attempt at misinformation. I didn't spend too much time on it, but there are always things happening in this world that are meant to deceive, aren't there? The whole CFS being caused by a retrovirus is a questionable part of the whole discussion because even now, though the retrovirus idea is not accepted there is still an unknown, not understood element to the disease. I don't think it proves anything being said here though in this "documentary". It just remains not fully known at this time.

Two other covid possibly "conspiracy" thoughts. What about the scientist, a computational biologist, studying covid who just died by "murder suicide". I wonder what the suicide rate is among people in this field of work? My first guess would be very low, though it does say murder suicide, so that is probably not the question to ask. Police are being very tight lipped about details. They knew each other. Longstanding dispute over intimate partner, but one was not a citizen. But who was the suspected murderer? Nothing is being said. His work, the victim's, was very specific, very intricate. Could someone have a motivate related to his work? Looked up "homicide rate by occupation" can't seem to find, though there are suicide by occupation tables. Suspected murderer was a software architect. Police say no chance it was work related, but I think the crime just happened. Seems premature to have completed a full, thorough investigation and been able to make that determination at this point. Maybe I have dates wrong. It was said of victim "he was well liked and in the process of studying the infection mechanism of COVID-19" It could be exactly what the news is reporting as, a crime committed based on personal relationships, jealousy or mental health problems, but it is something to wonder about.

Also another question I have been wondering is - what happened to invermectin? Why hasn't there been follow up? The drug they were pushing through has some pretty serious side effects, but invermectin, which is pretty safe, hasn't been pushed for rapid testing? In fact FDA pushes warning AGAINST it? That sounds questionable to me. Also, in the limited reading I did it appears that invermectin is used on certain populations to control certain endemic diseases such as river blindness, and another and also tested for preventing malaria which means it's safe and well tolerated, right? Couldn't it be examined, population data, I mean, for occurances of covid in this population? Possibly lower covid rates among people who are being treated with it for other purposes? Maybe noone is blocking study or use of invermectin, but Dr. team in FL said "remarkable results" and then you hear nothing? People should be ON it, studying it, I mean, and the media. There is no current news on active studies and latest results.
Just read there are also clinical trials being started in Egypt. But I just so happened to find it mentioned. Haven't seen anything in the media on it. Also Dr. reporting some success in Brazil. And studies in France.

am i believing we got robbed of a further $2.2Trillion and counting over a new strain of common cold bug?
well duh

This isn’t a “common cold bug”. It’s in the same family as some other corona viruses that are responsible for common colds...but also MERS and SARS. This causes a severe pneumonia. And I’m not a fan of where some bailout money is going, certainly, but that’s neither here nor there, in this discussion.

@FreethoughtKaty well, dunno what to tell ya, severe pneumonia is something immune-compromised ppl have to worry about, not healthy ppl. Let them go hide imo, and suck some more candy or whatever while theyre doing it too! Obviously no one can kill them if they are isolating like they are supposed to, right? Is that so hard to understand?

@bbyrd009 I suggest listening to experts like epidemiologists and infectious disease experts. I can tell by your manner that you’re not likely to accept new information that contradicts what you currently believe to be true, so I’m not going to waste any of my time trying to introduce you to any.

@FreethoughtKaty ty, bc i think those guys are idiots, and "dead doctors don't lie" for no reason eh? Why would you pay any attention to a guy that is not going to live as long as you will, statistically speaking? Drs know about sickness, not health, and most of them will even admit that to you.

Yes!!!

If it is all so horribly inaccurate and blankly false!!

Why is all of it being censored, removed, and banned?

Too many are following what they perceive as the truth!

Who is actually checking and doing the research you all are so willingly too believe and follow?

It seem too too many are confusing and labeling everyone who states anything contrary to the corporate media and pharmaceutical industries information as conspiracy hoaxers!

You see the uninformed and the anti establishment types blowing their horns and signs!

Yet, when those who are not yelling and in your face, giving information that might help you, you treat them the same as the others!

It is easy to say and/or state they are wrong or just a conspiracy hoaxer without reasonable thought and research!

It is too bad the the vast majority of you will not read what is written here, you will spew vial statements and innuendo about what I have written!

When deep down inside your gut you know something is bluntly wrong, does not add up, and something is driving it that you can not see or comprehend, you retreat towards it even if you know it might not be as safe as you would like!

This is just a reflection of your own motives based upon someone else’s thinking!!!

If it is all so horribly inaccurate and blankly false!!
Why is all of it being censored, removed, and banned?

I think you answered your own question there.

It’s removed from forums because stupid people will hear it and then do stupid shit, like infect others.
