My dad had a blocked bowel and the hospital gave him 2 options: 1. They'd put a tube down his throat and suck it out or 2. Have surgery. He refused both options and told them to come back with another option...

He began to pray. Then started passing gas. He told the nurse "You didn't think of the 3rd option." "What would that be?" "jesus christ!" They told him "He's not on our staff." LMAO He ended up having a BM and they discharged him.

You reminded me of this little bit of humor, a joke my dad told me when I was a kid. "Have you heard about the mathematician who was constipated? Well, it was nothing that he couldn't work out with a pencil."

Is this a joke?

@JeffMurray No.

@soulless Well, you were mislead. This is most definitely not what actually happened.

@JeffMurray This is what happened. I read your comment below about surgery as a last option. But if you read my comments about my hospital being crap you might get it. They recommended surgery to my grandma last year for the same thing. She said no and left to go home to die. My aunt's from 3 different states all came up to change her mind. They ended up giving her miralax (which she already took like daily) and she is still kicking. They made her move from our state of NY all the way to NC in with my aunt because of it. My sister got the house out of the deal.

My other sister went to the ER last year and was told she her CT was fine. Literally as soon as she had come back from the scan and discharged her. She went back the following month with the same pain and they told her the last scan showed she'd need to have her gallbladder removed. They set her up an appointment with a general surgeon. The surgeon told her to change her diet and she could avoid the surgery. She's stupid though and hasn't changed anything.

Back in 2015 I broke my toe. They gave me crutches and a special boot to wear and sent me on my way. I ended up needing surgery because my bone was pushing on my nail bed. It is still not the same and I had to go up a shoe size. I could go one with stories from this place.

@soulless Holy shit. I'm sorry. That place is fucked. I'd drive to the next town from now on for any problem that isn't an emergency.

Did he get down on his knees?

Lol his church doesn't kneel in prayer though.

I've always said that Xstians are completely full of shit and now I have proof. lol

i propose a new spelling to you:

"xSTAINs" or "xSTAINity... for they are a STAIN on the planet and humanity... innit.

@lakota_5 The saying used to go that Crazy People were Touched By God - well doesn't that explain a lot? lol

That would be "HOLY SHIT" of course 🙂

The religious really can be so full of shit sometimes. (I wonder if your father thought the gas he passed was the Holy Spirit.)

Literally full of shit

They don’t put tubes down your throat to clear your bowels. Be for real here...

That's why I thought it was a joke. They'd start with laxatives and softeners with enemas. Then try golytely, lactulose, or kayexalate. Surgery is not a first round sitch.

Again Jesus gets to blow it out his anus or in this case Uranus or hisanus!

Shit happens!!!

An enema would of worked, this story sounds like it's full of shit!

I'm wondering if they did one and he just isn't saying. He did have to poop twice before they released him. They made sure he kept food down and shit again.

@soulless They could of and he just wanted to give his power of prayer the credit instead of the person who determined that an enema was all that was needed.

HAVE*

ugh.... WOULD HAVE....

(yes, necessary)

@lakota_5 🙄

How much did they charge him?

ER visit is going to be at least $500. But it included a CT and IV then a 2nd hospital visit because our hospital sent him to one an hour away so they'd do the surgery. He did sign himself out of our hospital so he didn't pay the ambulance fee.

1

They would have a LONG way to go going down his throat to get to his bowel.

I also thought how would THAT work. I looked it up and it would take out trapped air. [drugs.com].

@RobinGray Read the link I posted above. I didn't think that either.

Sounds like a load of crap.

A true come to Jesus moment.

2

THAT is FUNNY! Sounds to me as if he got lucky...they wanted to do surgery? For a packed bowel? Don't go there.
