I love it! When I tell people I perform humanistic weddings and funerals, they usually reply "oh, so you're non-denominational" and I correct them, "No my denomination is humanism." Now, if I can remember, I'll say, "No, I'm non-delusional."

This will be a perfect answer for some people questioning me. I will have to be careful so as not to insult some people, though I don't care about insulting some others. πŸ˜‰

Non-Delusional sounds very good really. Many in the church world will not even catch the meaning.

I like Non-Delusional as a faith, if you say it fast enough they will just think you are some weird offshoot of an Episcopalian sect or maybe some sort of Mormon, etc.
Personally, I love architecture and some of the churches and cathedrals are quite exceptional from an architectural standpoint so I just say that I don't cross those thresholds out of respect for the architecture - I wouldn't want to see the structure come crumbling down on my account. πŸ˜€

I often heard the same: what church do you attend?
I simply said none, and moved on from the person.

I would be insulted by the suggestion- and would not dignify it with ANY answer. I do not want any part of my day interrupted with such mind mulch.

"Where do you go to church?"
Is one of the first things people ask you in some parts of this country.

When people would ask my Great-Uncle Vic what Church he attended his answer was always the same, " The Ones with the Chimneys on them."
I.e. ANY Hotel or Pub in the area.

When I lived in Cleveland County NC, I was literally harassed to attend a church by their cult members for 3 weeks in a row. Well if showing up at my door with sweets 3 Sundays in a row counts as harassing anyhow....
The 3rd Sunday they showed up, I shut the door in their faces as they stepped up onto the porch stoop. This resulted in the minister himself showing up the following weekend wanting to have a philosophical debate regarding god while I was trying to cut my grass. Y’all know how that went.....πŸ‘€

@Buck Did you find out how fast he could run by chasing him with the mower?

@BufftonBeotch I told him I had had this very debate with dozens of people before him, and I didn’t have time for his bullshit as I had REAL work to do and started my mower. He watched me cut the grass for a minute or two and left....

I wish I would have thought of that when I was younger. Maybe that would started me on the path of enlightenment earlier in my adult life.
