I run around with a woman from Bosnia who was a during the Serbian wars. Her family eventually was able to immigrate to Sweden after staying in refuge camps in Austria. Bombings are very frightening but her most frightening memory is what happened in her community when the access to food and water became problematic. She vividly remembers neighbors stealing from neighbors and using force to do so in order to feed their children.
She has a very good friend that she went to college with who is half Ukrainian and half Cameroon. they are both in tears filled with fear because the Ukrainians that live in cities are now without electricity and water and soon will be out of food.
War is evil and even though there are Ukrainians sharing their food with the starving Russian soldiers, access to food may soon be impossible for all of them if this invasion continues.
and the children will suffer most of all....

On this we agree.
