Was Sophia A. Nelson persecuted for her Christian faith? Nope! She was criticized for her bigotry.

Emboldened by the corruption of Trump and SCOTUS, Christians are over-reaching in a big way. It may take time, but I believe they will come to regret it. They're about to lose another 20% of their flock in the next few years. That's hysteresis for you...

Yes, that poor excuse for a country's leader really set things back a long way.

If you are a shitty person, and you say shitty things, and you thrust yourself into the public eye, you get what you get.

People get to tell you that they think you're full of shit. That's not being silenced. That is a consequence of spewing garbage.

Well said. If you choose to put your bigoted thoughts out in the public arena, you should have enough guts or strength to put up with the fallout and blowback. If you don't, then maybe you should have kept them private in the first place...

@TomMcGiverin
Although, I should say in addition, thank you very much for letting us all know who and what you are.
That's important information that everyone needs.
Now, you can fuck right off, Sophie!

😁

As the very old adage goes, " What thou soweth also shalt thou reap," her time will come and she will find herself harvested but, imo, NOT by Jesus/God by nature itself.

IF a Christian does NOT sense nor feel that he/she is being either criticized, persecuted, denied anything or everything then first words that will spew forth from their mouth is PERSECUTION.
Christians on the whole are the GREAT Fakers and Pretenders and have been so since almost day one.
One of their first ever shouts of "Persecution" arose when they decided that the Roman Empire was an excellent target for their form of propaganda and they literally INVENTED the " Feeding Christians to the Lions in the Arena," the Mass Executions of Christians by nailing them to stakes (NOT Crosses btw) in the same arenas and having chariots driven around them as bowmen shot arrows at them, then of course came the Christian fostered MYTH of Emperor Nero blaming the Christians for the Great Fire that engulfed a huge percentage of Rome itself, funny thing that since it is a well researched, examined and known historical FACT that the fire was most likely started by a burning ember spilling from a Cafe style eatery situated on the fringe of the area known as the Subura which was nowhere near the locale where the Christians resided and worshiped.
And the BIG point to remember is that Ancient Rome and the Romans were quite adept and happy to " add in" any and all NEW Deities from any cultures/Nations they conquered to their ever growing Pantheon of Deities, etc, etc.

Not having read the Post piece, I can at least say that the friendly atheist has this right about Christian nationalists: they use Christianity as cover for their own bigoted views, which, by and large, are not reflected in the teachings of Jesus. I would add that Christian nationalists do not express these views merely to participate in free and open exchange of ideas. Their ultimate aim is to gain power, and use that power to undemocratically subject others to their will. Christian nationalists are, in essence, fascists.

This was already posted somewhere else on Agnostic.

That happens a lot, believe it or not. But I am grateful because I missed it the previous time. Personally, I prefer more engagement as opposed to less. But that’s just me.πŸ˜‰

@p-nullifidian You make a good point.

I'm not in all the groups nor do I see every posting. I can't know what's been posted elsewhere if I haven't seen it.

@Lilac-JadeCanada I get it. Right now I am in almost all the groups related to politics, except Trump Pinata, which Hippie Chick kicked me out of, so I see just about everything at once.

@TomMcGiverin I'm not political, so seldom see or interact with much in that topic. As for scump, I try to avoid upsetting my innards.

@Lilac-JadeCanada Believe it or not, you are not apolitical. Almost no one is. Posting this video was a political act. As was your post of two days ago of a video titled Bye Bye Boris, and your post a week ago that began "It’s the strangest thing about this church - it is obsessed with sex, absolutely obsessed." You're political as hell. Just saying. And by the way, I like your politics. πŸ˜‰

@Flyingsaucesir Oh, okay. I just try to post something that may be interesting to some.

@Lilac-JadeCanada Posting something that you agree or disagree with is not the same as having an in-depth discussion on the subject.

You may not be political but you are very aware of its effects in general.
