After the Spanish Flu pandemic we had the roaring 20's. The 60's-70's bought us Hippies and the antiwar movement. The music was the best.
Can we have another roaring 20's please? Get Hippies back, antiwar protests happening and hopefully artists will write and sing about it.

Strictly speaking they were beatniks in the late 50s and early 60s and then hippies from mid 60s. But yeah, since then it's all been a bit of a drag man, you dig daddyo?
But the US government would reactivate their 1960s covert programs, like MKULTRA, CHAOS, the FBI one whose name escapes me, and assets here and there to cause trouble ( like their Charlie Manson asset back then) because you see they don't like people to protest, or question things, or challenge things, but rather be good little scared consumers and shut the fuck up and god bless America and truth, justice and the American way. Like that. But I'm with you in spirit.

They have been scrambling to ensure social media is controlled enough so another "Arab Spring" does not ever happen again. The internet is a different place than it was in those times.
Can't have the peasants organising themselves in protest against authoritarian governments now can we? Had arrests in Victoria during covid for promoting anti-mandate protests online. Look what happened in Canada during protests and look what's happening in the US with the rounding up of "insurrectionists".
