The Supreme Court will hear arguments on whether or not Donald J. Trump's name can be legally omitted from the upcoming presidential election ballots on the grounds that, under the 14th Amendment, as an officer of the United States, and having taken an oath to support the Constitution, he violated that oath by engaging in insurrection.

It's pretty obvious that Trump engaged in insurrection. Many judges and legal scholars agree.

But Trump's lawyers seek to get their client off on a technicality. They argue that the POTUS is not an officer of the United States. (Nevermind that a US president takes an oath of office at the beginning of his/her term, that he/she holds office for a term of 4 years, and that the Oval Office is property of the United States government.)

Is the president an officer of the United States under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment? Deceased Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia appears to have thought so, as did founding father Alexander Hamilton. See the article in the link below for a full explanation.

The corrupt justices will contrive language to allow Trump's run in direct contravention of Amendment 14. This ruling will be seen as absurdly partisan but will give cover to the reorganization of SCOTUS including prosecution of the illegitimate justices. (in my dreams)... The government and the country need a thorough "airing out" of both Russian subversion and Christian fascists (significantly overlapping sets).

I think the fake electors thing and Jan 6 rise to the level of insurrection, but all that matters is what SCOTUS rules. I suspect it will be a logically tortured ruling in his favor, as they did with Roe vs Wade.

This SCOTUS has the assignment to enable tramp. We are screwed.

But does the supreme court want to preserve itself enough? The end of the executive branch will cause the fall of the legislative soon after.

I place the odds that they rule in Cheato's favor at 50-50.

@foolmeonce in a dictatorship or monarchy, the balance of power by these branches becomes non existent,
or irrelevant.

With videos and texts that we have on Trump this should not be a court related argument. The 14th Amendment speaks for itself.

That amendment speaks for itself, but will the judges hear it?

Similar to the right to bear arms

All I am now waiting for is to see if the stench of corruption has infected the majority of SCOTUS judges.

We know it has at least infected Clarence Thomas
