There was a MASH show during which Hawkeye was operating on a bomber pilot who had been shot down, and was suffering the effects of PTSD; he imagined himself to be Jesus Christ. During the discussion they were having during the operation, Father Mulcahy asked Hawkeye if he believed in God. Hawkeye answered "I don't know if there is a God, but what I do know is that I'm not good enough to do some of things that I do."
