I am distressed by the American media's obsession with the "royal wedding." There are so many important things going on, this bit of pop culture seems like it should be insignificant.

Oh for goodness sake. The royal wedding is an excuse to celebrate. The Royal family has virtually no legal power but is the custodian for historical estates, decorum, tradition, fashion etc. It also brings in tourist dollars that infuse the economy. ...
