I had a 57 VW Bug. It didn't even have a gas gage. If you ran out of gas, you pulled on a lever between the seats and you had one gallon of gas or about 35 miles to find a gas station.

I love this song. Back in the 80's, I would occasionally sit in with this funk/soul band in Denver. The keyboard player in that band played in Sugarloaf. A very nice and funny guy, and a good player. One night we stayed up all night enjoying some of Colorado's finest "snow" and swapping road stories. Great times. Thanks for the memory.

As for dancing on a grimy club floor, most clubs aren't grimy, and where the hell are you going to dance if not in a club? I don't grind when I slow dance. I dance. We did a show with Robert at Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa back in the day. A funky dance hall built in 1924. The dance floor was built on big springs. We had concerns when we looked out over the audience and saw a bunch of black leather jackets and a lot of piercings. We were a country rock back then. We rocked'em and they loved us, Robert rocked'em even more. The guy had a like a five octave range. Unbelievable! Thanks for sparking a great memory. :)
