I don't consider the money I spent on drugs and alcohol dumb. There are plenty of other things I bought that were dumb, a gun in my 20's, a couple of cars, and a Propeil slicer and dicer, but not the drugs and alcohol.

Like everyone else some are good people some are not. All politicians are not bad people, but they are stuck in a system that has gone south mainly due to the money that dominates the system. How the Supreme Court equate money with speech is completely beyond me.

My late stepfather and my best friend were both somewhat redneck and racist, and both changed over time with influence from my mother, brother, and me. It can happen, but I don't know how common it is. My experience is that it is rare.

Advertising was my career before I switched careers to play music. To me it is only immoral when you advertise a product that could or would harm someone if they use it, cigarettes for example without a warning in your ads. It would be very difficult to have a business without a way to let people know about your business or product. Capitalism couldn't exist without it. If you don't like capitalism then I could see why you would feel that way.

Being up front at the start is best. A lot of musicians who are on the road all the time get ultimatums, including myself. I might have been disappointed, but I couldn't blame them if it is not what they wanted in their life. Time goes by much faster for the one on the road than for the person waiting at Home.

I think a lot of people still go to church for the same reasons they did in the fifties. In small towns you could be ostracized, even have people not support your business. I have always had the feeling a number of church goers are there becuase they need reinforcement that what they believe is true, becuase they have doubts about the whole thing. Then there are those who are there for the social aspect. They just haven't found the right bar.

It seems unlikely. We are such a diverse society it would be impossible to get enough people to agree to an armed insurrection. Even the 30% that follow Agent Orange wouldn't be enough, even if they all went for it, which of course they wouldn't. Our diversity is our strength. When our country swings too far left or right, the people pull us back toward the center. Our government is huge and just as diverse, making it impossible to succumb to a dictator. I don't trust any government, but given the fact that human beings are so terribly flawed, someone has to be in charge. I could be wrong.
