If by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people-their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights and their civil liberties-someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "Liberal", then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal.”

@glennlab And thus, at least at the fed level, the Dem Party no longer qualifies as a liberal party, because the few actual liberals in there, like Bernie, who is technically an independent, are vastly outnumbered by corporate, centrist Dems, who care nothing about the things in the JFK quote. In Europe, for example, the economic policies of the Dem Party in America, would be called center right..
@TomMcGiverin It has always been a center/ party, going from center left under Roosevelt to center right under Clinton, The big problem is that center has shift to the right at the same time. Ike today would be too leftist to be elected..

Spending tax dollar on projects that their members/ mates carry out.
Government infrastructure projects not carried out by liberals or liberal supporters, get funding cuts to the extent the the project is so shonky that it is hardly useable by the completion date. Eg our Nation broadband network
.They also have a coloured spreadsheet that decides which electorates get the most funding.for community infrastructures.
Liberal electorates of course.
Although not conclusively proven there is a grave suspicion that a sizeable portion of the donation funds from the devastating bush fires were used to shore up the Liberal election funds.

@Kurtn I will stay with the international designation as them being a center right party, I trust unbiased evaluation over someone with an axe to grind. The American Democratic party is also identified as a center right party, though the opposition wants to identify it as socialist.
Conservatives are only concerned with issues that are entirely imaginary, like their idea of the "gay agenda" is a Machiavellian dystopia compared to the actual gay agenda of just leave us alone.
Their solutions to these entirely imaginary issues are our actual national problems.
