When she bought him, she was told he'd been fed on Felix, one of the top-selling brands of cat food, but this shop didn't have any.
"Oh, I'll just get any brand, he'll eat it if he's hungry," she said.
"You've never had a cat before, have you?" I replied.
"No - how did you know?" she asked.
Needless to say, the cat absolutely refused to even sniff the food, and my colleague had to get up early to go to a different shop, buy Felix and then go back home to feed him before work the next morning.
