CNN is the propaganda arm of the democratic establishment.

RoboGraham Level 8 Jan 20, 2020

The democratic party doesn't have a propaganda arm and if it did, cnn would not hold that position.

g

@genessa I didn't say the democratic party, I said the democratic establishment.

@RoboGraham Even so, incorrect -- and the current establishment is not democratic, small d or big D.

g

@genessa opposition parties have establishments too. The establishment doesn't dissolve away after losing an election.

@RoboGraham Whatever. I stand by what i have said.

g

@genessa The way that I put it, CNN being the propaganda arm of the democratic establishment, is hyperbole. Their connection isn''t that blatant. But the bias is strong and I'd be surprised if there wasn't some coordination between them.

@RoboGraham Cnn has many programs with some reporters/announcers being decidedly less progressive ir even Democratic than others. It has no bias. Individuals who work there might, from show to show, and as i say it is not always liberal but i will also add tbat being biased in favor of facts is not a bad thing.

g

@genessa Do you feel the same way about foxnews?

@RoboGraham What have my feelings got to do with it? It is well documented that fox employees attend morning meetings that tell them what they may and may not say. Cnn doesn't do that. Msnbc doesn't do that. Fox IS the propaganda arm of the gop. That is not hyperbole or opinion. The only opinion i expressed was that facts were good. Fox doesn't deal in facts and that is a fact!

g

@genessa Yes absolutely, that is a fact. And to a lesser extent, CNN and MSNBC operates in a similar fashion for the democratic establishment. This is why there is a Bernie blackout. This is why journalists working for those networks lose their jobs for covering stories out of step with the narrative they are pushing.

All corporate media is biased. Their loyalty is to their advertisers and the influential people who grant their reporters access. Their purpose is profit not to inform their viewers. I too used to think it was just fox but no, it is all corporate media that behaves this way. Fox is worse but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen in the other networks as well.

@RoboGraham Incorrect. It is not a matter of degree. Fox has its daily meetings controlling content. The other networks do not, and furthermore they hire analysts with a variety of viewpoints, and while the corporations pay attention to profits, they are not controlling who says what. As for a bernie blackout, i am seeing bernie so why aren't you?

g

@genessa I am seeing him now that he is too influential to ignore. Up till now, I mostly saw him covered negatively if at all. The corporate media understands that his policies are not good for their bottom line. They will do all in their power to stifle his movement.

I noticed CNN's bias enormously in the last debate. The way they framed their questions to Bernie was shameful.

@RoboGraham i was seeing him on msnbc even before he ran for the 2016. I still see him. I don't watch cnn. I am aware of the diversity of views on both networks.

g

@genessa Sure he is on those networks. The issue is that his coverage does not correlate with his poll numbers. They spend much more time on mayor Pete when he is far below Bernie, for example

@RoboGraham why should it correspond to poll numbers? There are a gazillion polls. I don't care about any poll except the one i go to for the primary and the one i go to in november. Meanwhile not corresponding to a poll is hardly a blackout.

g

@genessa Would you be okay with Tulsi Gabbard getting 5 times the coverage as Joe Biden while his poll numbers are 10 times that of hers?

@RoboGraham depends on the kind of coverage lol. But that is unlikely at any rate and neither analagous to what is happening nor evidence of a blackout.
