@BitFlipper I do indeed hate the DNC. If you look at the past 40-year history of the Democratic Party, you can trace the mammoth downslide in electoral victories in executive and legislative bodies from Democrat-controlled to split or Republican controlled to two key factors: 1) Republicans’ successful Southern strategy that wedged historically Democrat voters away from the Democrat Party, and 2) The DNC shift to the right with its decision in 1979 to abandon its traditional poor and working working-class base in favor of taking corporate donations. The rightward shift of DNC was especially obvious and devastating under Bill Clinton, who adopted Newt Gingrich’s “Contract With America” by reforming welfare (increasing poverty, lowering income for single mothers, making people homeless, and allowing states to eliminate welfare altogether) and accelerating mass incarceration.

The DNC no longer puts people or elections first. It puts its donors first. This is obvious if you pay attention to history, up to and including the present day.

@Bobbyzen your grievances should be directed at the DCCC. If the DNC is a bad institution then tell your candidate to run as an independent.

@BitFlipper I have similar issues with the DCCC, but they only control House election/candidate funding. Indeed, they ran a centrist in my congressional district’s 2018 primary, where we had a terrific progressive candidate—a labor lawyer who was a regional director of Obama’s 2012 campaign and with a great volunteer team. The DCCC couldn’t stomach a progressive so put up/funded their own choice. It was devastating for all of us. She has since voted to expand Trump’s ICE and his military budget.

As usual your response is destructive. You’re just happy blowing up shit without offering any solution. We have 40 million people living in poverty. 80 million people uninsured or underinsured. If you care anything about anyone, offer something constructive.

@St-Sinner I am friends with uninsured people. I’ve housed homeless people and addicted unable to obtain services from our increasingly privatized, exclusive economy. I know and love real people and advocate for and with them. This is not an intellectual exercise, it’s life and death.
