Wow the last watermelon I grew here was about the size of a large grapefruit.

Sounds like the type of results I get with tomatoes. My soil (and efforts) produce good beans and melons, but not tomatoes and corn.
I like things that tell you when they're ripe. I'm always picking too early or too late.
