Interesting thought. Most of opium comes from Afghanistan. When they emptied out Fort Knox of the public's gold. They refilled the vaults with opium. The war is easier to be fought with covid vaccines from people with greater financial base to steal from.
Can't get wealthier on opium alone or highest quality mental mines.

Of course they will. They need the money.
What is this magic date?(August 31) Poppies grow everywhere, Turkey, the Asian part of Russia, my garden ( if somebody would supply the seeds), And the product of the plant is opium. Heroin is a few steps away.
And Michaeltaurus is right: It is much cheaper to switch to Fentanyl for pain relief and mega-profits.
If they were eradicated, nobody needs to guard them. They are gone.

Jee I'm way behind the conversation, but there has been no "Asian" herion in America in a decade. Too valuable and they use a lot over there. We are allowed only fentynal here , cheap and easy to make, China is gladly supplying the pre cursors. Oh yes did one mention it's physically Posion and mentally deadly, just look at the numbers and yes the vast majority, I'd guess around 90+% of dead OD's are directly attributable to it, and don't wanna burst any bubbles but it's not the fault of Purdue or Oxy's
