So true. I just wish I could hurry it up a bit. Eight months widowed and I don't feel any closer to "moving on".

@Sheannutt I keep doing things that I usually enjoy, but then I feel worse when I don't enjoy them. So now I'm resigned to creating arbitrary goals to work towards just to have something to focus on.

@Sheannutt I don't want to be in our house any longer, either. Unfortunately, I can't afford to sell it yet.

So true.

@Sheannutt

It has been seventeen years since Mike passed and ten years when I lost my mom and I still have moments when I miss them so.

@Sheannutt

I am so sorry for your loss. My mom was my best friend, confidante, and compass. She'd set me straight if I was wrong and was my biggest champion if I was being wronged. I miss her laugh and sense of humor the most.

What are your best memories of your dad, if you don't mind sharing? 🙂

I'm not sure what counts as "recovery" or if it's even appropriate. It becomes the fabric of your life and story.
I don't believe in "closure" for loss of a loved one.

From the bio doc of Anderson Cooper & his mother Gloria Vanderbilt I carry this with me(paraphrased): "There is no answer for why, it just is".

I need to watch that one again, almost didn't the 1st time & glad I did.
