My ex husband died last night from a long fight with cancer. I knew he was sick but I had no idea it was stage 4 when they found it years ago. He wanted me to know he was sick and told mutual friends. I got an email from his sister Saturday saying he was in his last days. I went to him and got to say all the things I wanted him to know. He was no longer able to talk, but it was healing for us both. We hadn't seen each other in ten years. I held him and told him I loved him, that I wanted him to be happy after we split, and hoped that he had found peace. He had bipolar disorder and it was one of the reasons we divorced. Now the memories I tucked away to move on with my life are coming back and I want to look at our pictures of our honeymoon in Ireland and see him as he was but it just hurts so much to do that. I'm mourning all that could have been and never was and it is tearing me to pieces. The pic is of him with his niece.

I must say I thought I was the only one whose heart and brain think this way. I still care for everyone I have known in my time and find myself wanting to say whatever I felt was unsaid . It isnt always welcome by people from the past .
Oh the unsaid is always good.i mean just how they positively contributed to my time here in this rock.

My heart goes out to you...don’t hesitate to come onto the site to vent if you need to. It will be a period of turmoil for you, try to focus on the good times you had together and try not to dwell on the what may have beens. Life can’t be lived by regretting things that cannot be changed, just be grateful for the time you were happy together.
