The AKC is full of corruption as exemplified by historical disqualifying behaviors. Only in the last few decades has it been more inclusive of less popular breeds. The AKC still insists on the mutilation of certain breeds to adhere to tradition. The UKC has always been more inclusive especially with dogs bred for hunting. I attended years ago when exhibitions of dogs performing what they were bred to do was a new concept. Sheep herding, obstacle courses, retrieving in water etc. Schipperke being my breed of choice, I am still open to purchase as adopting & rescue over the last few decades has become far more difficult for good or no. In context of my own challenges with forgiving, it has come to mean understanding what prompted the offence. I have found it usually comes down to mental defects/mental illness/ mental dysfunction. To forgive the unforgivable does not mean one must interact with the perpetrator or absolve them of responsibility. It means to grasp the severity of the uncontrollable impulses that one manifests. However, I find this is difficult to apply to those who plan to do harm. A lack of impulse control, auto response, habit, are somewhat physiological as the brain should have developed a frontal cortex that acts as a brake on impulsive behavior. To forgive those that plan to do harm by omission or intent is a far more wrenching process. How does one forgive those that were "just following orders"? Those that stand by & observe atrocities? Those that raise no voice or hand to intervene? Especially when there is an option to do so. How does one forgive a mob? Apathy? Complicity? Perhaps this is why I am an introvert echewing human contact. Except for the doctor.

Shucks! I am in Wi. Look into rescueme.org for folks near you. Also breed specific rescues. This is one reason I do not foster. It is always the people who make trouble. Never the dog. I take dogs but only on a permanent basis. I also have a common release contract so there will be no back tracking on the terms. So now I get mostly elder dogs whose folks are in assisted living or worse. They often last only 6 months or a year due to their own age related issues & years of poor diets. Good luck.

NALC! Union Yes! Mandated by THE Constitution by OUR founding father, Ambassador to France & father to many, Benjamin Franklin. How insidious does one have to be to attack the most unifying semi federal service? 67 degrees below zero my eyelashes froze shut. 30+ days above 100 degrees as 750+ folks died in Chicago. The Union made this a job one kept. Today that is less so. No air cooling. The UNION got us a fan in the 90's.. No heat in the winter. I wore hunter's battery powered socks. Must lift 75 lbs. Be able to be a devil's advocate & make the list. One side the pros, the other the cons. The debate. Learn to discuss without anger or violence or insults. Thank you for the suggestion. I used sugar & gauge with water proof tape over the bandage. This is much less labor intensive. Zoot Suit the tuxedo cat healed her completely broken leg in 5 weeks with no splint or bandage. Animals heal differently than we humans. Quite the symmetrical pattern.
