Hundreds in circular motion gradually heading towards their appropriate habitat thousands of feet above. I once saw some Whoopers with them as we are close to Baraboo, the site of Whooping crane recovery & breeding. Visit if you get the opportunity. Different cranes in breeding programs. Never will I tire of nature's cycles. 6 foot wingspan dwarfs the herons & egrets that mingle. I welcome them on the fringes of my pond & spillway, a Des Plaines river tributary.
