I love the “What If’s”. What if, everyone waited to be married before having sex? How do you think the world would be?

Well I'm still waiting to be married and personally I find it safe.
The world would be free of sexually transmitted diseases, free of abortion and killing babies and of course children will know and have parents to take care of them!

It has never been that way and never will be.
Dreamer is the proper handle for you. This is not a Disney movie. It is life. ☺

@Sticks48 I realize that it is not a Disney movie but this is my choice and I believe it is the right thing to do

I think the divorce rate would skyrocket.

HORNY!

4

There'd be a lot more murders, suicides and cases of road rage.

3

So many people figuring out too late that they’re not at all sexually compatible with their partners.

3

There would be a lot of bad sex going on out there. Blechh.

3

Humans would be even more neurotic.

3

It would be even more screwed up!

That would suck in the worst way. NO. Just NO.
Would you buy a car never having driven it before? FTS!

This used to be the accepted norm. I think that the cars all drive just fine.

No thanks! Not ever.

Your just scared to think what if!

@Debbera Oh, darn! You found me out! I’ll choose a better hiding place next time.

2

For starts, it would be a lot less populated.

2

Lots of folks would be badgering their parents for permission to marry at 15 ! And there would be a whole lot more divorcing ...

2

The world would only have 1/2 it's population, and a whole lot of angry masturbaters. Okay maybe the angry non-laid people might have got mad and strangled half of the population, so maybe 1/4 of the population.

I'll be 50 in November and have never been married.

Marriage is a choice, and I guess you choose not to be married. More power to you and stick to your commitments I say.

@Debbera I think out side of the box with obscure ideas and it is rather difficult to be compatible.

2

Sex would likely become a boring thing

For me the experience I've had with multiple partners has let me learn more about pleasing a girl (reading only gets you the abc how to but not the passion part of the equation and ffs you should never "learn" from porn)

Ok, I get that but, WHAT IF, sex wasn’t the most important thing??? Imagine what human relationships would be like?

@Debbera Sex isn't the most important ?

Can't deny that humans are sexual beings though ?

2

I sure didn't wait for marriage to engage in such...

Scare to think of a world where sex wasn’t that important? Imagine what life would be like if we only had sex during a mating season?? What would your life, heck, your personality be like???

@Debbera Very different and less fulfilling for sure.

There would be lots of arranged and child marriages like in biblical times, where women are treated like property. We already had that experiment, it was atrocious.

Each person that you date before marriage adds to your being. The good ones can teach you honesty, forgivness, humor, self control, critical thinking, happiness, and self love. The bad ones offer none of these. Having sex before marriage was , at one time, frowned upon, if not demonized. Yet every person you interact with, both good and bad, add to you personality. They teach you how to be a rational human being. That gives you all the tool to excell in life. Then you pass that knowledge off to your next partner, or prodgeny.

It used to be that way in the US, so people tended to get married young and start their families right away. Since divorce was also rare, there were many nuclear families, and often the entire family had to work together on their farms and businesses.

Now that most people are employed at jobs, women often have independent incomes, children aren't needed for work, and because there are more options, marriages are occurring later.

I'm not sure if people will continue bothering to marry, though, since it's a big legal hassle to get divorced and most people don't stay together for life.

1

The divorce rate would be higher than it currently is.

1

Y'all are missing the obvious. If no sex premarriage, no jesus, no xianity so......the world is better.

1

So I reckon my question to you will be... What do you see in marriage that should make it worth the wait?

Mainly is the legal commitment and healthy practices!

@Dreamer777 to a horny little demon or to a practicing nympho... no healthy practice, no legal committment is Good Enough.

@GipsyOfNewSpain are you speaking about human?

@Dreamer777 is the only demons or nymphs I have ever met.

I think there'd be a lot of people racing into marriage before really getting to know each other. Then there would either be a lot of awful marriages and maybe a high infidelity rate (I'd assume that if people waited until marriage they wouldn't be allowed out of marriage easily) OR there's be a lot of divorced teenagers.

1

Less populated.

1

Are their still people who wait

We know there is Tim Tebow, and I doubt he is unique.

1

Lol, ok everyone let’s back up, what if everyone waited to have sex. Not why would we wait, but what if we waited??? How do you think today would differ??

Do you think we would react to each other differently? What would we be looking for in a mate? And how developed would our personal traits be?
