Poll. How many know or think Mother, now Saint, Teresa was a money grubbing cash cow for the Catholic Church. She ran death houses in India with no medical or pain care. She believed in suffering. In 92 she took a gift of 3 million dollars from Haiti's dictatorship Baby Doc to pose for a picture and pronounce him and his wife good Catholics.

In the case of Religion, nothing is what it seems. She was not a "Mother", who knows what is meant by the word "Saint"? Her legacy is that of Regression not progress.

I know Christopher Hitchens could go on for hours about what a terrible person she was.

I think she was a big participant of the money laundering Vatican bank. Also as you said, she liked the suffering that people were having there and that it was a part of her "gods" work.

She was all about suffering in order to have good things happen later. It's a sick concept the is part of our culture, sadly.

I have heard about her 'compassion' for those suffering. Don't know how much is true, but knowing religions and governments, seems the ends justifies the means. Funny how she would let these people suffer in their pain, but when her end was approaching, she moved to a more industrialized area to received top-notch health care.

I wasn't there, nor do I know any first hand accounts, but given current priests record of child molestation and abuse...would anyone be surprised she was fast tracked to sainthood?
